Same. Threw my life and health and relationships away on drinking and drugs. At this point I'm trying to get clean not because I think I still have time to come back from it and be successful and lead a "normal" life, I just want to be able to die as myself before it's too late even for that.

Part of winning is trying, failing, trying again. Because practice makes perfect. But if your goals are unrealistic, you change to a new goal. Part of winning is also being flexible, knowing when your goal is unrealistic, and changing it to a more realistic one, and pursuing it. So when you say "give up" do you mean "give up at everything forever?" Or do you simply mean "Give up at the unrealisatic goal?"
