Firstly what you should understand that money itself is an universal mediator for any commodity, from food to any other thing you can find use or desire, some social democrats, German chauvinists or American anti-tsarists funding some spare money for the Bolshevik individuals would at most cover their transportation and safety issues, because at the moment they're in Russia, the money won't create things out of nowhere that do not exist. It can't create factories or workshops, it is the labour-power, labour + the efficiency of the production method & equipment. Because during the October Revolution, there were near-nothing that 'foreign money' could buy, the revolution was not reliant on foreign commodities, but the local agricultural and industrial production, during which was War Communism implemented and all foreign debts and connections were repudated.
They couldn't 'import' food or mutinions on a large basis, they didn't even have to use 'money' as extreme rationing and central commanding of production was in place.
Not to mention that some parties really had interest in letting Bolsheviks go on with their revolution. Most benefitted party was the German State, which provided a relief in mostly ending their Eastern Front. ( and they also fought the bolsheviks until they forced the treaty of Brest Litovsk )

Guess it is a muh sin and betrayal to act with caution and exploit a major power whose interests temporarily align with yours in your advantage.
Left-SR activists who disagreed with the Bolsheviks on Germans were spending their time murdering German envoys in Russia in the name of revolution while Germany were further antagonized and German armies were advancing and murdering the light of many heroic souls in the Red Army.
After all, the bolsheviks took the power and successfully established the proletarian dictatorship, perhaps the end justifies the means =)
