anons im serious here, being a fireman is literally by default almost as masculine as a cop, you train hard, get into places on fire to save people from danger, you could almost die on the job saving your fellow man if shit goes bad, to protect and serve if you will, and its filled with muscular buff men with deadly tools (fireaxes/waterhoses with enough pressure to fuck your eyeballs) almost like cops, by default it has all the things supposedly breeding nationalism or being reactionary

so why do people never say fuck the fire department toxic masculinity racism fireman reform now? why do right wingers say the left is trying to make the police weak and woke because they are masculine and love their country and that's racist, yet the left never does it for the firedepartment?

i have never in my life heard even the shrillest tumblr sjw imply that the problem with police is "masculinity"

>>756240
i did but that was just in a thread about the movie dirty harry

for real though, this "the left hate cops because muh patriotism and masculinity makes them seeth" always appeared from right wing outlets, and always during debate about a protest of a cop shooting someone

My town went through three fire cheifs in one year, they all got fired for blastin slurs on social media.
I don't have anything to add to that except that i know the current guy, and while he's not into slurs, he's also pretty racist.

Aside from postal workers, firefighters are a living example of actually existing communism

>As has already been pointed out, there are even true communist types under capitalist power; for example, firefighting services. When something is on fire, no one pays to put it out, and if nothing is burning the firefighters are still paid.

In some cases. They're more often just an extension of the police force. Depending, I'm sure, on where you live.

During the yellow vest riots french fire fighters were getting into street brawls with cops.

I was going to say warships are an example of socialism in one vessel, however there are issues.

An actual communist ship would not give the captains or officers treats, they have to live in the same living quarters as the normal sailors but have infinitely more expectations, and must sacrifice themselves selflessly. This is a good analogy to how the communist party must act when in control of a nation.

in america don't they usually help cops with riot control? (i'm neither american nor french)

why the fuck would someone ever get mad at them. its like saying fuck the garbage man. tf did he do?

I don't remember firemen murdering people for being black.

For shit like >>756269, the fundraisers, the fire department in my town co-hosts the policemans ball and all over the state the two departments are in a steady and loving relationship.
Now volunteer fire departments, those are good folk 'round here. They don't really contribute to shit, but they do barbeques that slap, and they helped me cheat my community service as a kid all the time.

true masculinity is having a lot of money without having to work for it, anything that requires effort is akin to being a slave, not a man.

I remember when the term 'toxic masculinity' used to be a term employed to depictions of harmful masculinity in fictional media, such as in James Bond for example which features things like emotion surpression, women as disposable, violence as the primary choice, etc. that would be a harming influence on impressionable young men, especially those that have no male role model in their lives.

When did this term turned into meaning all masculinity?

>>756418
Literally always. What is even non-toxic masculinity?

>>756422
Superman, Uncle Phil and Gomez Addams are examples people have given to me of positive masculinity. Yes, fictional American characters. Don't look at me, I didn't choose them.

>>756426
I dont know uncle Phil, but what is masculine about the other two characters? Superman is big and muscular, but what are his positive masculine traits? And from adaptations I saw, Gomez Addams is a flamboyant man designed to be an opposite of conventional father figure.

>>756422
Apparently you never paid attention to service workers then

>>756418
“Toxic masculinity “ is just a nagging patronizing term for fictional portrayal as that everyone knows is supposed to stay in the realm of fiction.

Feminists and religiopolitical conservatives are ironically the most attracted to “toxic” masculinity”, if not the most realistic embodiment of it

>>756239
Firefighters embody the positive traits of masculity while the likes of police forces, armed forces etc the extremely negative parts

>>756467
This.
Garbage men are second embodiment of positive masculinity

How many people get harassed, extorted or shot by firefighters compared to cops?
