asking someone their thoughts on evrart claire is the ultimate litmus test for politics

Even tho he is supposed to be the villain or something he kinda convinces me when he speaks

>>756344
is he supposed to be a villain? I think he's a complex character. A corrupt but effective leader that's manipulative but seems to be doing the right thing, in my view and as far as I can remember

>>756355
That's my impression too, maybe most people label him as thr villain since they aren't socialists (probably)

>Harry, I’m a busy man!
>Why would I spend valuable union time working towards the common ownership of the means of production?
>No, Harry, i don't think of it as *socialism in one chair*.

Isn't he just a corrupt union boss, literally the "Labour Aristocracy"? Idk why communists love him so much when he is what Lenin critisized a hundred years ago. He won't ever get anything accomplished, and in fact he is graduating to become fully bourgeois through property investments. Unions are not revolutionary on their own, they need the Party just like the Party needs the unions.

>>756362
I've never seen anyone unironically call him a revolutionary. The quests in DE are set up, so you're bound to throw in your lot with someone, which is why most communists will pick helping him over literally anyone else, except for the signatures maybe. There is even an in-game dialogue option justifying this as "reformers paving the way for hard socialists".

>>756366
It's honestly really frustrating how Disco Elysium is actually not a super communist game and is extremely doomer really. Apparently in Sacred and Terrible Air fascism wins and everything gets nuked / lost to the Pale. It does the issue lots of Western Marxists do where it does not actually show communism.

HIS EYES ARE ALL FUCKED UP!

He sucks, but just twin brother is cool

>>756368
DE is more of cool rpg with immersive lore and a vibe than a game about political liberation. I guess doomer games are just what you get from the bleak material conditions of modern-day estonia.

DE is a game about hope. How can you achieve political liberation without hope?

>>756368
Because it reflects on real life failure of communist movements? All of them. Western, eastern, difference that does not exist.

Mr. Evrart is helping me find my gun.

Evrant Claire bullied me (police officer) and is therefore bad. This is my only political belief.

>>756374
One eye on the women, the other on social reform by any means necessary.

>>756355
>>756357
Villainy is a silly way to interpret most things beyond "good and evil" tales, but especially a work like this where we inhabit the perspective of a (ultimately) police officer. Someone being antagonistic towards our character doesn't therefore make them malicious or antisocial.

>>756355
>the >right thing
Morality isn't real.

I just know the deserter and him don't get along.
They made a deal where he was hired to assassinate the previous forewoman, Tiphane Holly, and then apparently Dros was disappointed with how the two brothers lead the union. He says in the game that they are mostly motivated by greed. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle because I've always felt that the deserter's judgement is clouded from the trauma of the war. There were a lot of unanswered questions about him like what his brother was up to during the labor strike. He's still one of the more upstanding characters in the game, ironically.

>>756362
Fuck off, midget.

Yet this site goes apeshit over lolishota(USER WAS PUT ON A LIST)

>>756472
we don't go apeshit, you're just entitled and want people to not find you highly suspicious for jacking it to naked kid drawings

>>756479
>cartoon kids are the same as meatspace kids

Why aren’t we applying this logic to violent media

>>756343
I still don't understand what he did wrong.

>>756373
Communism has no need of lack of confidence even in the face of death.

>tfw serial b8er tries to take over a thread about a point and click adventure

>>756483
first of all, this isn't what I said. What I said is that jacking it to cartoon kids is highly suspicious at best (and it is), not that it's literally the same as real kids

<using passive voice to erase the agency behind bourgeois nuclear holocaust
are you a NYTimes Zionist oped writer?
Sounds like SOMEONE will build SOMETHING, accomplishing a force of workers dictatorship that will eventually threaten the Jeffrey Epstein class of international finance capital.
>become fully bourgeois through property investments
its bourgeois to give drug addict children a place to do disco roller skating. Displacing indigenous drug addicts is capitalist, its their culture to have needles and broken bottles everywhere, read my woke decolonization zine!

>>756343
This sterotypical american "uNiOnS aRe CoRrUpT" shit annoys me in this character. Completely forced narrative people later just parrot.

>>756343
>evrart claire

He is a deviationist.

Deviation from what? Leninist revisionism?

The same site that says rape is ok if women are right wing and that killing innocent people for the sake of "le glorious leftist revolution" is necessary.

>>756512
Are they wrong though?
Unions do tend to be corrupt if not inefficient.

>>756544
So fron your point if view child rape is okay?
