I used to be a lower middle class programmer for several years, but now I'm unemployed lol. I'm scared of my future prospects, and I have unresolved mental problems, but at least I get to squander my money by traveling and all my friends think I live an epic grand life adventure. Who cares, honestly.

My job pays very well but I don't consider myself successful because I have nothing else in my life. Every month I contemplate just moving to a shitty apartment and living on my meager savings until I die.
I've never had a professional job or at least one that matches with my presumed education level. I just clean a school now. It has benefits and is unionized so it's somewhat better than normal. I've also neeted and will probably never move out of my parents house but I've also saved up quite a bit of money since I don't really spend it or do much for myself really. I don't really do a good job of taking care of myself at least not as good as you would expect.
