I never had an opinion of weather or not it should be, as an Filthy-Amerikkkan-1st-Worlder myself whenever I talk about politics with normies I never would mention the country being balkanized and instead I would larp as some sort of Neo-Browderist or Bill of Rights socialist because balkanizing America is probably the most "Anti-American" position you can get to because you are literally advocating for the United States to not exist. I really don't care whether or not the United States becomes socialist or collapses into several different socialist states but I still have no idea what would be better for developing a classless, stateless, world.

Undersea cables are a completely different different challenge. Literally apples and oranges. And besides, is it really a good idea to be running an 8-lane highway through nearly-untouched wilderness where inhabited cities are few and far between?
