today i was standing in line and i saw an advertisement with a pretty woman on it. i thought about how i would feel if i were placed in a social situation with her, and at first my mind placed us in two different spheres of the social world, due to our looks. this is the standard social programming that has been pumped into our minds as children, that looks determine a large part of your status. then i thought to myself, “wait a second, if i’m in a social situation with a pretty woman, but i don’t know anything about her, then what at all do her looks matter to me? i dont see her as a just an object, something i use to extract some sort of utility or to satiate an urge. i don’t know her, i don’t know if we have anything in common.”

men are socialized to see women as objects, sexual or otherwise. i understand that this is a cliche, but it’s still true. we don’t see women as people, and once you mature and try to understand this then you will understand completely how people actually socialize and and up as friends or partners. this is your problem, you likely have autism and/or you have trouble empathizing with others. it is not your looks that get in the way, it is the barriers that you create that block your access to making friends and finding a partner.
