I think conservatives would be more likely to view authority as justly emanating from kings, war, the victors of history, market competition, etc. whereas anarchists would view these sources as arbitrary, self-serving, or unjust. Conservatives are more likely to view society as a bunch of idiot children who need the firm guidance of a father figure to set them straight (an opinion also held by Chinese communist intellectuals).
