a thread died for this

The porn industry is exploitative because of capitalism. Opposition to porn is one of the classic backdoors for reactionary politics. You can dislike porn or think it's gross or whatever but if you speak in opposition to it, you will (intentionally or not) attract reactionaries who agree with that and will seek to use your arguments to further their agenda, which usually involves both sexual repression generally and discrimination against sexual minorities in particular.

Take care in these dangerous waters.

many many people cant see the difference between women who get trafficked and kidnapped and their passports stolen and women who get shot without their permission and porn stars who earn more from filming themselves than some minimum wage job and artists drawing fictional illustrations depicting sexual acts because all these ARE porn

Porn is awesome. It's just unfortunate that certain elements sullly its good name.

>>761189
Obviously porn is usually produced with the intention of being pornographic, but the problem is that the opposition rarely concerns itself with anything but the eye of the beholder. As a result the term is always pretty nebulous. You make some distinctions in form, but there are also distinctions in content, like the difference between hardcore and softcore or erotica or something that just has references to sex. By some people's definition, anatomy diagrams are porn.

You're just a degenerate gooner.
A weak pathetic "man".

>>761207
How about you stop believing in such spooks as "degeneracy", retard? You're basically proving >>761188 right.

>>761207
Here we go, pathologizing people for cranking it

>>761182
Look at this Uyghur hshshshs!!!

people defend the porn industry/prostitution because they think all sex workers are middle class only fan whores making 500k/month who chose to do sex work because they like it instead of impoverished women forced into it because they want to survive

>dangerous
this guy's scared of porn lmaooo

>>761179
Im pretty sure its idpol. It doesnt matter if its completely banned or if the state forces you to watch transvestite porn. Both options are equally irrelevant in regards to socialism.

>people defend the porn industry/prostitution because they think all sex workers are middle class only fan whores making 500k/month
Ironically some people attack the porn industry/prostitution for those same reasons.
Anyway, selling your body is just a particularly egregious version of what every prole already does. Most people who do it are exploited, many don't think they are, some manage to turn it into a business or become rich or otherwise just have an interest in continuing rather than stopping. None of that is unique to porn or prostitution. Regardless, exploitation is bad (excuse the moralism) and should be abolished.

>>761179
Pornography will be pointless in communsim. Once humans control their own destiny the shackles of the sexual instinct will be erased so everyone can be more productive. Babies will be grown in factories according to a plan, just like any other object of utility.

>>761179
Well, yeah it's exploitative as any other job, and I don't think it's good for socialisation in the interpersonal sense, because it reduces incentive to actually have sex with real people.

>>761179
>Do you think that pornography is dangerous
yes
>and goes against communism
no it's only dangerous to capitalism

>>761529
Pornography will destroy capitalism. Everyone will be too busy gooning to go to work or procreate. It'll crash the economy and crash the population.

Hell nah porn is awesome :)

woke socialists: "We must SMASH THE STALINIST AUTHORITARIAN STATE that oppresses the libidinal desires of individual consumer freedom. What if our liberated Ukrainian slaves consent to doing free association between free producers in the global free market at Jeffrey Epstein's island?"

<A few years ago, Zizek asserted that “we should not oppose something just because it was appropriated by the wrong guys; rather, we should think about how to re-appropriate it.” This accurately describes the mission of The Pervert’s Guide: to take back post-code Hollywood’s unwritten codes for cultural criticism—even for the left—while turning various independent and international films on their heads in the bargain. “Cinema,” Zizek explains in the opening moments of the film, “is the ultimate pervert art. It doesn’t give you what you desire; it tells you what to desire.”
<Perversion at the movies, then, doesn’t mean that you cleave to the content of a given desire, but rather that you try to elude the cinematic injunction to desire x, y, or z. It makes for a rather intricate game, and as it happens the perils of the cinema apply to imaginative engagements of all kinds. This is nicely encapsulated by Zizek’s reading of Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo (1958), a film in which an intrigue that begins as something known to be fake, inauthentic, and artificial becomes so interesting that one gets caught up in the game, until such point that appearances finally overtake reality

aw geez ric, it's not the 1970s anymore, it's just called porn

>>761421
How does porn affect interpersonal relations compared to TV and video games?
And why do people pathologize porn in relation to sex, especially when sex is already pathologized?

Porn is ironically more ethical than sex.
Society has more respect for breeders who irresponsibly pop out babies or perverts who constantly hit on women at wrong times than gooners who just keep their libido exclusively on their desktop.

In the future, procreation shall be glass tubes instead

Nah, I'm actually Porno-Communist.
