No one said it would end suffering, but if you're going to claim "even though I don't know you or your circumstances I know for sure you will still be miserable" you'd have to believe it wouldn't significantly reduce suffering at all.

Broken hearts are almost always at least in part due to the extreme atomization and alienation of capitalism. I venture that communism can, in fact, do exactly that. Among many other more important things.

Well under socialism, people won't be judged on the basis of class, and economic well-being, or access to resources as much. Also, theoretically, everyone should get a fair and equal chance to make something of themselves, or there would be enough manners of support for people who are maybe in-between employment for whatever reason. Thus, I don't think being broken hearted would really be the same thing.
