Feminists say to just treat women the same as you would men, and I've done that my whole 30 years of life and never been seen as even a potential partner. But it seems like men that are just nakedly exploitative and abusive can cycle through women on a weekly basis if they want to. So what is my actual, material, non-moralistic incentive to treat women as equal? Because it increasingly feels like I'm just sacrificing my own self-interest for a bunch of women who would never want anything to do with me in the first place.

The majority of women seem fine with gender roles, they want it obfuscated enough that they don't have to think about it, but ultimately they seem to want to reproduce a dynamic that places them as submissive to their partner. How exactly does opposing gender roles or treating women like they're actually equal benefit me in the slightest when it's not actually what most women want?
