A lot of people I know are genuinely so fucking checked out right now, like they're not even sure the world as we know it will exist in a few years let alone their current job and living situations. I know someone who was on the verge of graduating from higher ed who literally just stopped, just completely gave up because they don't believe it will be worth anything anymore. In my job most people I interact directly with are sure they're about to be replaced or laid off and is putting in as little effort as possible (which is correct and based ofc, but still). The people I know who are a few years younger than me seem even worse, like they've more or less given up on doing anything with their lives and are just going through the motions for the sake of their families and whatnot.
All of this is extremely anecdotal, but I've also seen people online saying similar things. I don't imagine it's that widespread outside of my bubble, but there seems to be a growing contingent. Either way, it's really bad in here. I don't know what happens next.
Petit porky problems. Meanwhile I will slave away until my death as a blue collar worker.

huh i thought i was the only one.
The truth is, life was always a drag.
Our modern era has successfully duped people into believing that they could gain a higher station in life by mere wit and hard work alone.
