If 10% of america is gay as most polls show, doesnt that mean that the natural likelihood of being born gay for humans in general is at least 10% because there is no logic to this being a us only thing, meaning that every country is 10% gay at least. Remember this is only openly gay people and if you add all of those who are jn the closet or unsure about their sexuality the numbers could be staggering. Also note that literally 30% fucking percent of genz is opebly gay according to the best polls we have so far.
What are the implications of this? It feels like at this rate homophobia will be a non issue by 2046 or at least will be at the level that anti black racism is today (ie. Still a problem but mostly discredited and readily ignored by those at the receiving end). Also could we be headed to a social conflict of unseen proportions as the gay and gay supporting population grows exponentially yet western governments become more and more right wing and overtly repressive towards minorities.
I know this is not necessarily a leftist issue but im curious how the gay question is going to be resolved in the future considering how interesting the trends are.

gayness is a spectrum not a either or identity. You might only occassionally have gay feelings, used to have gay feelings and ceased to have them (or the reverse), etc etc. The desire to square people into queer or straight is stupid and mostly performative.

It's not 10% gay, it's 10% non-hetero. Most of them are bisexuals and 90% of bisexuals are practically heterosexual.
