ITT we discuss how history and civilisation mightve developed if other animals evolved to be sapient
by sapient i mean having a spoken language and intelligence equal to or greater than that of humans, while retaining their natural instincts

how would they interact with humans? what about other animals?

We would be having sex with them.

Any preferences? I always felt there are many man coded animals, but not really any woman coded. Big cats, does, and that is about it.

Yeah, your mom.

I don't know what you mean by woman coded but hyenas are matriarchal. There's an alpha female and females run the show. Their vaginas are also more like penises I think.

do you think they would live together with humabs or would they form different civilisations? or would it differ from species to species?

A "sapient" non-human animal would be limited by their lack of aposeable thumbs, creation of tools, therefore unable to organize labor.

A sapient brain is a massive investment. In humans, the brain is roughly 2% of our body mass but consumes 20% of our energy. If a sapient wolf cannot build a trap, a spear, or a fence, its "intelligence" doesn't actually help it catch more meat than a "dumb" wolf. It has a higher energy "tax" with no way to pay it back.

Most animals have "natural instincts" that are either solitary (tigers) or based on simple hierarchy (wolves). Humans used their brains to create socially necessary labor. We can agree on a plan to hunt a mammoth, store the fat, and trade the hides. A sapient animal without the ability to "build" a society through physical labor remains a prisoner of its instincts.

In a state of nature, efficiency wins. A non human animal with sapience inefficient.

what about ants and bees

I think we would still be the dominant species because we have hands capable of using and building tools. Some of the other great apes might be a problem so we need to kill them all first.

Oh someone already said it but smarter

I would argue sapience is worse for eusocial animals(ants, bees, etc.) because they act like one cohesive unit and their biology is their society/function, being sapient wouldn't allow them to escape just be more aware. A colony couldn't possibly sustain the energy requirements for higher levels of intelligence.
