What will happen? A lot of people dismiss the stoned ape hypothesis, but what will actually happen if they consume psychoactive substances? How will it affect them?
Surely out of all the facilities researching monkeys, apes, gorillas, chimpanzees and whatnot somebody must have tried it, but of course such research wouldn't be published now would it?
I personally don't see it as unethical to try, psilocybin mushrooms are found in the wild and it would be normal for a hominid to have had them naturally. I believe there should be public trials giving chimpanzees and other hominids psilocybin and seeing how it affects their brain function non-invasively.
I love the stoned ape hypothesis, it's a damn shame there's probably not much truth to it. Still gonna invoke it whenever I do shrooms though.
