>on some review site like letterboxd
>leftist can't just say a movie is shit or they don't like it they always have to moralize their distaste in an essay about the latent toxic masculine fascist themes of john wick

have you considered that part of the enjoyment is in critically analyzing something, you fucking faggot?

marvel fans when you force them to analyse a movie beyond "bad guy… bad"

That's only a problem if there's no substance to what they're writing. I remember someone on twitter seething about how hard hotline miami 2 was and then calling the game an edgy incel power fantasy forever ago.

i love reading leftslop. its like eating warm leftover filling soup. I LOVE BIG WORDS AND READING GRAHHHH

what movie are you mad that people didn't like op

i know ur sad that chainsaw man ending is shit and ur taking it out on filmsloppers but consider that fujimoto, per author interviews, was trying(keyword: trying) to craft an anti-hero narrative to discredit and thus actualize the reactionary and freedom-limiting nature of the superhero due to the constraints of the bourgeois state. In other words a superhero can only go as far as his state and thus can never be revolutionary and/or free. However, fujimoto kinda dropped the ball and just said fuck it we ball to try to shed light over the monotonous nature of the superhero, chainsaw man, in how his constant conquests will never lead to individual satisfaction but the evidence was not schmevidencing and both critics and layman alike rightfully identified it as engagementschlop meant to shock with weak ties to his intended thesis

The problem is you think they're doing the latter instead of the former. Sometimes people don't care as much wheather they personally liked or disliked something, but have a lot of thoughts about it, so that's what they share. Not everyone has updoot / teirlist brain.

I get that letterboxd is supposed to be about ranking stuff. Optimally people without updoot brain should just make a neocities and post their essays there, but people like cramming onto the same platforms for some reason.

>for some reason
Probably because they actually want to be read by multiple human beings, but who am I to infer their thoughts

none in particular it's just something i noticed over time

>>766976
i've only read part 1 i just used what i saw first

I don’t like your thread, it’s shit

The whole point of the internet is so people link to stuff cross-site. I see links to essays people make on their personal websites all the time on fedi.

A lot of leftists is still stuck in the Sunday School "it is problematic therefore it is bad" mentality. This is because critical engagement is all about counteracting hegemonic culture rather than l'art pour l'art. Such views eventually lead to a very boring, borderline schizo consoomer experience. Just look at poltards who dismiss every media not filled to the brim with honkies as problematic zogslop that will brainwash you into being trans
