the thing is that the way that society thinks about 'sexual and romantic needs', the way society thinks they should be treated are goddamn parts of morality. there are ways society likes to do those things and ways it doesn't and so forth

Not necessarily. You can plan an ideal society without evoking morality, i.e., "society should be like this because it's in my self-interest".
And even if it weren't the case, none of this entails that drinking a glass of water is "morally equal" to sex. What does that mean? What is the moral value of drinking a glass of water?
