Why does Japan still idolize this degenerate?

AFAIK emperors are like religious figures to them.

Obviously they shouldn’t worship him but it’s no different than all of the Town Destroyers America worships

there's at least some legal and historical aspects to why the king currently rules, the role of emperor to japan is essentially like that of the pope and has always been centered around shintoism
