Brent Mydland was actually great early on, i'm thinking of the Road Trip Oakland 1979 album in particular, and while he revitalized their style for a very short time he still arrived during the downward spiral (Post 1977) of the band's output and right into their fossilized boomericana stadium rock era, pretty bad vocalist like pigpen too.
Then there was Hornsby but i never cared at all for the post-80s Dead as it was just a lazy return to their mid-1970s style but everyone is old, boring and diabetic now.
Keith only sin was bringing his quirk chungus sister on tour so she could do shitty backing vocals.
