Not OP but Psychology is 90% bullshit because psychologists don't know shit about human brains and just predict things based on patterns and their own human presumptions. I know because I've had 3 different psychologists, all "experts" of their field give me 3 wildly different diagnoses.

Sociology is also rife with insertion of personal politics rather than an objective, impartial analysis, so most 'advanced' sociology literature and so on is often massively skewed in favor of whatever politics the author holds.

That's not what science is. Science isn't just about patterns, it's about actually understanding the patterns and WHY they happen. Psychology just looks at outward behaviors and so on and tends to lump it into categories and diagnoses, which might be 'generally' correct, but generally correct is utterly unhelpful, because I can also see and analyze such general traits about myself or anyone else and make conclusions without any need for a formal psychologist education. At least therapists don't usually pretend to be studying the human psyche, and simply try to provide solutions and verbal outlets for mental issues, though in burger land they tend to do that shit too.

The Big Bang is a theory, and one that I don't know is correct or not. However the Big Bang is based on measurements of how celestial bodies and space expands, the WHY is the subject of research to this day, but it IS being researched and studied, which is why it is a THEORY.

>>11482
Yes. Biology, Chemistry and non-theoretical physics. For example, Plants are green because of chloroplasts, which help them photosynthesize and so provide energy to the plant through sunlight, H2O and Carbon Dioxide. We know why photosynthesis happens; the chemical reaction of the plant cell's organelles using chemical processes to form primitive sugars with an Oxygen byproduct and sunlight (electrons) to provide the energy for this to occur. The formation of the molecules and chemical reactions between H2O and CO2 are a result of the properties of the different atomic elements that make them up - Hydrogen, Oxygen and Carbon. We know the electron counts they have under normal circumstances, the proton and neutron count, and so on and so forth. We know why these different sub-atomic parts form like they do, though this is still being fully researched.

I'm just being EXTREMELY simplistic about this because to properly explain every chemical reaction and he transition from Biology to Chemistry to Physics would quite literally be enough to fill a book. My point is that while not every aspect of chemistry, physics and biology is known, there is knowledge we have proven beyond reasonable doubt and we know WHY it is so. With psychology you don't have this because human brain chemistry is not consistent and even that is more the purview of Neurology (biology) rather than the metaphysics of psychology. While there are generalities of afflictions and mental issues, every person is different, and these differences can range from miniscule, to enormous. Hell take a look at the psychology of a single sex - men. High testosterone, increased physical body mass etc. Which lends itself to physically aggressive tendencies, yet there are men who are utter gentle giants and men that are violent beyond all logic. The human mind is a fucking abyss and is beyond JUST chemical reactions of the body. If a man can reign in their instinct to maim someone they hate or stop themselves from saying something they'd regret, then clearly there are things at play we don't know anything about. We have emotions that can never be described using chemical reactions. We have feelings that cannot be plotted using a mathematical expression and psychology/psychiatry/etc. tends to ignore this.

The west has a bad obsession with seeing STEMlords as the drivers of capitalism when in reality it's people who studied the social sciences and arts who use their knowledge to the social sciences to empower capitalism more than STEM could ever hope to achieve. Capitalism is a social agreement, not some machine built by nerds in glasses. Nearly every piece of art or journalism subvert the truth and spread propaganda to empower fascists. Fascism was an artistic reaction against the Jewish sciences which wished to define and overcome the cruelty of the natural and traditional worlds.

OP here. I should mention that my major was linguistics, and my main intellectual interest is philosophy. I was inspired to make this post while thinking about how much of generative syntax was more or less bullshit. I make fun of psychologists a lot for not studying a real field, but my field is not exactly stellar in terms of being grounded in reality.
Plenty of STEM stuff is "fake" as I would define it. Look at kurgsegagt or really anything a science communicator has said about aliens. And of course evopsych is the gold standard for made up STEM bullshit. I wasn't intending to rekindle tired old fights between humanities and STEM majors. Both areas of knowledge are very important to human flourishing.

I stand by my ranking though.
