/tech/ + /dead/ = Techlead
This dude is so based and moralfags whine about him! Just recently I became aware of him, he is my favourite tech/dead youtuber!

he's a snakes oil salesmen dipshit hack whose shitty scam is failing horribly due to silicon valley outsourcing all their jobs to el salvador or whatever and is now pivoting to god knows what because i'm not clicking that shit

/tech/ + /dead/ = n1x

he hates linux so that invalidates whatever other opinions he might have

File: 1719347070770.webm (691.93 KB, 720x404, 1718204828415260.webm)

Think I watched like a video and a half of his before figuring out this was some /g/ content farm for selling crypto. Like I was disappointed in my mental spam filtering for not spotting it within 5 seconds.

>>25720
What reasons does he give for hating linux? Never heard of him b4.

never heard of this channel before but he's actually based. vid related is exactly how I've been feeling for a few years now (minus the bitcoin brainrot) watching the tech industry double and triple down on being a game of kicking the can down the road with one scam after another. his AI video is also hilarious.

waow me reference

idk what techlead's take on linux is but it's a cooked corporate-subverted OS and also is a huge fucking mess of security problems. GNU coreutils are also infamously inscrutable and badly written. *BSD is way nicer imo unless you have some specific reason to need to use linux.

I run a fediverse instance. It's okay for what it is but it's also a complete fucking shitshow. activitypub is a really shitty specification that doesn't describe at all what an implementation is supposed to actually do or what it needs, it's more like an ontology of different abstract social software "activities" specified in fucking JSON where the implementor is left to do whatever the fuck. so unsurprisingly in practice everyone has to just copy whatever Mastodon does, which as an entity has its own little aspirations of trying to determine what the fediverse is and looks like. did I mention that every AP implementation is also shitty and basically just a twitter clone? because as usual free software can't innovate on anything, just copy whatever thing people already use. did I mention fedi's culture is basically split between selfie avatar techbros, radlibs, and lolirapist1488 4chan Nazis? did I mention that there are already corporate bad actors (Threads) trying to subvert the network and that they will definitely try this again if AP gets successful enough to present any kind of threat to the hegemony of the tech industry? did I mention that all of this shit has already happened before with email and no one learned their lesson?

dont get me wrong, I sort of like the little corner of fedi I'm in for the most part, but I really hope it never ends up becoming successful enough for normies to start using it. the internet is cooked and the sooner it dies the better.

>>25728
>idk what techlead's take on linux is but it's a cooked corporate-subverted OS
unlike BSD, which has a permissive cuck license

>>25731
>e? because as usual free software can't innovate on anything, just copy whatever thing people already use.
If they had an original idea they would copyright it and sell it lol.

go back to /g/ with the other midwit ricer faggots

<he says while parroting /g/ memes about linux being subverted by transhumanists sorry, I mean, Redhat
<he says while spitting "le code quality" meme, which is basically the "artisanal homegrown" woo of the tech world
<he says while using an OS by and for contrarian libertarians, when it's not being taken wholesale by this or that corporation as the backend for some proprietary OS, game console, or network appliance
btw, techlead's take was that Linux is an OS for tinker transhumanists, which is even more true of BSD
I bet you think TempleOS is better than Linux too

Too pathetic, didn't read the discussion. This youtuber is comprehensively beneath me. Do better.

Not to rag on ya for not reading the thread leading up but I'm pretty sure Nyx is a she.
Also what's gaming like on on BSD? Because getting games to run on my laptop was the first and foremost reason I moved from Windows to Linux. Also because Tyson-Tan–an artist I like–uses it, so there was a bit of influencer-ism at play, but that's just being in a society really.

It's certainly no more contrarian than people that still use Windows versions after 7 but complain when Microsoft does stuff. Besides, If the devs for basically everything are using Linux, so should the end user

>e-celeb thread
How decadent.

>>25739
Calling him a celeb is generous, more just someone the algorithm chose to pop up on some nerds' feeds. Look at his comments, ain't no human interaction in there, just bots.

>>25738
>Also because Tyson-Tan–an artist I like–uses it
Based. Krita is so good.

>>25740
Nowadays e-celeb is loosely used to mean any social media figure regardless of popularity, tbc.

>>25734
> go back to /g/ with the other midwit ricer faggots
He is right though

>>25728
>linux is a cooked corporate-subverted OS
Unlike FreeBSD which didn't even have to be subverted because it is pretty much only used by one or two megacorporations that can dictate how it should be, right?

>>25738
>Nyx
who?

Techlead is a nihilist of the nietzschean kind. It becomes very clear with his video "truth is a psyop". Techlead is unironically the only nietzschean youtuber out there. It is no coincidence, that he is a scammer. (He even says, scamming is the foundation of our economic system, so there is actually nothing special, about his own behaviour)

I'm gonna be real with you anon I'm not gonna get into a thread-derailing argument with someone who unironically uses the phrase "cuck license". I'm gonna continue to use FreeBSD, enjoy fucking around with your linux desktop every time something gets broken because a corporate actor decided their new tool needed to be forced into the userland to better suit their business needs running it as an AWS image. at least you have your freedumbs.

>>25768
Nta but how's gaming work on BSD? Like do the binaries for Linux programs work for BSD too or how does that work?

>>25769
people have gotten gaming to work on FreeBSD using the linux emulation layer but I wouldn't recommend it if that's a thing you need. I wouldn't recommend a BSD for the average person who just needs a desktop OS but from the perspective of someone who mostly uses their computers for sysadmin and programming, FreeBSD is comfy and I prefer it to linux.

>>25771
Ah alright. I suppose I'll give it a shot once I get around to learning about sys-admin stuff. Thanks!

>>25768
if you insist on being a lib who pearl-clutches at terminology then I could call it a "bootlicker license" instead

>>25768
How's NetflixBSD working out for you?

>>25773
The FSF approved terminology is "pushover license".

>>25768
feel free to continue using bsd anon, but you can't rly believe all that crap about linux do you? i mean wut r u specifically referencing besides redhat?

>>25769
If you like retro gaming, FreeBSD can run emulators fine. I don't play newer games so I can't say but from what I've read its pretty much identical to Linux except you need to use linuxlator.

>>25755
Cyber-nihilist occult leader who's said to be behind the occultic Sufism posts on Akichan. Well known BSD master and Lainchan founder, wrote a couple Deleuze influenced theory essays back in the 2000s. Basically she's Lainchan's version of Nick Land minus the transhumanist bashing, racism, and hair loss.

>>25755
just another pseud online that gets turned into a minor e-celeb by the braindead who are desperate to idolize someone just because hes read philcucks
