There doesn't seem to be any so I decided to make one myself. The topics you can discuss here are but not limited to:
>blue light filters
>blue light glasses
>dark mode
>eyecare monitors
>e-ink
>reflective LCDs
>effects of computer screens on one's vision
>Kobo e-readers
>Nintendo Game Boy and its successors
>other e-ink and RLCD devices

Also, it's a shame that Nintendo abandoned the Game Boy line of consoles

how would screenmaxxing a child from birth influence his/hers development?

When it comes to their vision it'll certainly get worse, otherwise it's kinda off-topic but I'll mention that their posture will also get fucked.

Do any of you use e-paper technology? What's your experience? Do your eyes feel better while using it?

I have an old e-reader. It's a lot better than reading on a screen. My only gripe is that due to its age it's starting to fade at the margins and where lines usually start, there are some ghost images.

i use kobo since… 15 years at least. went through 3 of them (broke one, one just died)
they're awesome. lightweight, integrated lighting, integrated dictionary/translation, adjustable font, space for a shitton of books that you can pirate etc…
they're objectively better than paper books. and yeah great for the eyes. dont expect them to be a tablet though, they're for books, and maybe black&white manga

>they're objectively better than paper books
>t. doesn't annotate books

What about books with complex figures, or even something like a world atlas? The other thing I miss with ereaders is being able to quickly flip through. But I agree that they are awesome.

barbarian!

Technically it would be possible with a touchscreen slider or a scroll wheel.

What do you think books are for? Sitting on your shelf to make you look more intellectual? They are consumable. Mark them up, lend them out.
