The internet is inherently hierarchical and tends toward giving already established and popular entities undue voice.

In the real, physical world, people encounter things that they are physically close to and can sense through their sight, hearing, etc. This is the concept behind protesting out on the street.

On the internet, there is no built in discovery mechanism like there is in the physical reality. People never just type in domain names to se what's there, especially these days. You could own "starmer.sucks" and maybe get like two visitora a year.

Discovery on the internet is based on network effect and platforms. You are at the mercy of other people linking to your site or whatever platform you're posting on choosing to recommend you.

In contrast, the material world has discovery built in. You pass a street protest, you hear their chants, you see their faces. You see some graffiti. You didn't search for it. The people who did tjat didn't have to pay Google for the privilege of being seen.

This is why real life is so important. Touch grass my Marxbros

I like your post.
I don't claim to know anything about the topic.
There might be an analogue in outreach.
Setting up collabs, and convos and that sort.
Probably difficult to find the right audience/creators.
Where you've got lots of potentially sympathetic actors.
Even I know some organizations make this their occupation.
And then there's the rest of us.
So there's real institutional pressure like you say.
I must touch grass…

Not only this however the 90s internet and the 2000 internet almost vanished now with AI scanning your posts you can not even say wrong think the OWNERS of the PLATFORM dictate your post will be scanned and flagged before anyone can see it, same for every file etc. And you get shadow banned so you can scream into the void at this point.

The days of some dude posting whatever he likes on some forum to inform people are long over. The internet is a net negative technology and the ruling plutocrats love to pretend how it empowers peoeple.
