>When vibecoders meet sane package management standards
As a daily Gentoo user, this kind of situation can only get worse with time
Nearly all rust projects already ship thousand of (sometimes in-tree) pinned dependencies, all lto'd into a big static blob for "reasons"
Even Debian has mostly given up, package management is a dying art

Rust has been impossible to avoid for a while now.
Mesa pulls it as a dependency.
So does every modern browser except like cog.
(If even that counts as a "modern browser")
I completely gave up avoiding it on my main machine.

For my personal projects I never saw the utility of uv.
Guess it fits the category of "rewrite it in Rust." projects.
But there was a time when I would have used it anyway.

Also might have learned my lesson from the recent Deno acquisition.
e.g. wouldn't write with MongoDB today.
Even though I'd like a JSON "ODM" with no translation layer.
Ideally written in javascript…
