KyoAni announces CITY: the Animation to air in 2025!
People were always begging for Nichijou Season 2, but really CITY's manga was much better in its setting and characters imo. Definitely Arawi's superior work.

There are 13 episodes for 13 volumes, so I guess that means all of the gags in the 1st volume that weren't here are just skipped since the next one will have to cover Volume 2 or else they won't cover the whole series. Kind of a bummer honestly, a lot of those gags really helped make the city's characters seem more interconnected. The entire story of Nagumo getting chased around for Rent and stealing a statue was cut, as was her hyjinks with Niikura for the resume.
I think that what they included was very well-executed though. But I wish there were 20 episodes at least because now they're gonna be cutting a similar number of gags for each episode!

The scene with Ecchan was from vol2! So it's not a rigid vol1→ep1, vol2→ep2, vol3→ep3 as you suggest.
I think the reason they cut all of those scenes is because they didn't want to introduce another major character in the Landlady, I think they thought that would be too much to take in. So I'm hopeful they'll include those scenes in the next episode when they introduce her. I don't think they're going to be systematically removing the scenes with the landlady the entire time, they just wanted to push those scenes one episode later most likely.
