I'm a bitter asshole who complains about anime cliches, do you know any anime that mockingly subverts anime tropes? I already know about Konosuba and One-Punch Man but I need more suggestions.
Kappa mickey needs a reboot fr
I love Aqua so much
If you're bothered by cliches you arent watching enough anime to begin with.
>>27160>If you're bothered by clichesIt depends. Some cliches are more annoying than others.
Gintama is the big shonen that mocks shonen battle manga, and it even has the gall to actually have good serious arcs in between that aren't just about powering up.
for something that mocks romcom tropes (and doesn't end up in one later like oregairu who plays it straight),you have Saiki kusuo no psi-nan,where every character is a living trope.
the grandpa of absurd humor,Excel Saga has a lot of parodies, and the author has also made Puni Puni☆Poemii which is the same nonsence but for magical girl anime (but those tropes already died nowadays, nobody makes a by-the-book magical girl anime anymore)
they're not very original picks tho if you want more obscure stuff.
>>27096only now did i notice mickey was shorter than every other japanese in the series
Franken Fran clowns on otaku media tropes pretty often
>>27095I mean, a solid 30% of the anime every season now are about parodying or subverting anime. mahoako had it's bd like 6 months ago. there is also that one isekai where the guys is reincarnated as a vending machine (mid). someone said gintama and excel saga, so I might as well also mention sayonara zetsubou sensei
however the problem with the stuff made 15+ years ago is that the tropes then weren't the same as they are now, and you have to be familiar with the anime and japanese pop culture of the time to really get the jokes and references. modern anime is more direct and accessible in it's parody
>>27197Franken Fran is godly
Every chapter with the fujo is hilarious
>>27095you should watch Sentai Daishikkaku.
and when you finish the anime, you should read the manga
