Leftypol consensus on the boondocks? Not read the comic but i enjoyed the show (granted i’m not black, so i can’t really relate to it) - and is it considered leftist?

I found it pretty funny and makes some good points but also sometimes seems to go in a direction I dont know if it is exaggerating since I didnt grow up Black in a White suburb like McGruder but I can't help but wonder if many Black people think he took on the wrong kind of views of some Black culture stuff, though i know he's dead on with many. McGrider wrote Huey as reflecting his own views where he admired Malcom X and Huey Newton, but he is still meant to have some naivety to him. I don't know if it could be called leftist per se, it has some leftist tendencies criticizing capitalism.

>homogenous opinion on (pop culture media)? is it leftoid enough?
bleak shit

famous anime za bundokusu

You seem to be new to interacting with other human beings so let me lend a hand!
>Leftypol consensus on the boondocks?
This is OP indirectly asking for summaries of potential previous discussions on the comic and the show; this is a useful way to start a conversation about art and entertainment without regurgitating subjects. It establishes a baseline opinion then allow for people to raise and discuss disagreements, follow up on certain points, etcetera. It may seem like OP is demanding homogeneity, but he isn't – this is one of the tricky things about the ways neurotypicals talk to each other!
>and is it considered leftist?
This is, again, an indirect way to raise a point for interesting discussion, namely what people of this largely left-leaning website think of the politics present in the Boondocks, a heavily political story in both its incarnations.
Also, this is the /anime/ section of the imageboard website leftypol.org; that the discussions revolve around pop culture is inevitable. If this is not what you want, perhaps you'll want to try out the site's many other bountiful boards!
I understand that for people who suffer from autism the way neurotypical people talk can be confusing – we often use phrases in non-literal ways, lean heavily on subtext, and so on. But don't worry, I'm here to help you and hopefully make this board as welcoming as it can be!

Great show, the average US citizen was (is) too stupid to get anything out of it besides them using the N world

Totally wrong lol. It's just that the entire population didn't watch it. The social critique was obvious.

Honestly I've only ever watched the MLK episode. It was good but in a sense I think it focused a little too much on "culture". Are there any other episodes you would recommend?

The spearchucker episode is really good. It's called "The S-Word." I like all the thugnificent, stinkmeaner, and pimp named slickback episodes pretty much. The girl scout cookie one is also classic.

Damn the civil rights episode was hilarious too.

"The Itis" is a heavy handed metaphor for drugs being pushed into black communities.

Yeah I enjoyed the show too, and saw a video break down and provide context for a segment of the comic that made it sound pretty interesting.
