If it ever happened, it would be an accident. You use strategic bombs nuclear and conventional to destroy infrastructure first and foremost, any targets other than that are pointless and done for reasons only chuds care about like “shock and awe”.
Now that all infrastructure is computerised, as is much of the military, devastating another country’s infrastructure and therefore economy is more surgically achieved through cyberwarfare than via nuclear war. You will get to nihilistically enjoy seeing people murder each other over a rare shipment of twinkees to an otherwise intact store, before you’ll have to live on twinkees in the post-nuclear wasteland.
Nuclear war won't destroy capitalism. When the bombs drop you will still have to go to work, just plowing some field rather than at Tesco. There will be the same grind just even worse. If you try and live on your own you will starve or freeze to death or the military will murder you.
Only the people can defeat capitalism and imperialism, because it won't abolish itself. If you want to take advantage of nuclear war then start organising a party that can harness the people's anger and weakness of the state after the fact.
