Where does the phrase come from?
Arditi del popolo
the first antifascist militia
also trained by legit WW1 veterans probably real Arditi since they shidded on 20,000 of musso's fascists with only 350 combatants
a couple of them also fought in spain after they affiliated with the "Brigadas Internacionales"
forming the "Batallon de la muerte"
reclaiming skulls and black flags for anarchists
Nice classic design.
I like the flag (second image). Basically a combination of the soviet flag with a stylised symbol uniquely for the British Isles.
Keep the unique double-sideness of Oregon's flag and combine Redesigns A and B.
Based as fuck, this should be an actual flag
those flags look pretty
What does this come from to suggest Mark Twain designed a flag?
Sorry, it was the flag for the US occupied Philippines.>His 1901 essay To the Person Sitting in Darkness was not an anti-American polemic, but a broad critique of western colonial imperialism. In it, he satirizes the colonial powers' claims to be bringing "civilization" to the "dark" corners of the globe. This and his other writings clearly show his disgust with American colonial-imperial policy and with atrocities committed during the insurrection. He mocked the American general Leonard Wood (who has a base named after him in Missouri) and praised the Filipino leader Aguinaldo.
>It was in this sarcastic essay that he wrote: <"And as for the flag for the Philippine Province, it is easily arranged. We can have a special one - our States do it: we can have just our usual flag, with the white stripes painted black and the stars replaced by the skull and cross-bones."
I posted more info in >>>/draw/2410
Yeah he didn't like what Teddy Roosevelt was doing in the Philippines and even joined the 'Anti-Imperialist League' as a means of protest. Domestic opposition to American expansion into the Pacific and Gulf of Mexico started early.
Imo, the current US flag looks too dim for my taste so I was looking to make something that felt a much brighter and optimistic but maybe I've overdone it in the opposite direction a bit.
As for the similarity with the PF flag, I don't think their flag would fit as a state flag and regardless I think not having a big fasces on my flag helps distinguish mine from theirs pretty easily.
