Year in and year out the EA sports games make up a good chunk of the best selling games. How? Are sports gamers really out there buying the same game every year?

Do sports gamers even exist? Maybe I live in a bubble but I don't ever hear anyone talk about these games. I feel like I'm being lied to.

To prevent this thread from being completely negative I will say that there are some old football games I played as a kid that I still look back fondly on

They are played by the great normie masses. Its like when you look at the most watched movies on Netflix and most of it is stuff you havent even heard about, scroll past some slop videos in your youtube recommendations with 100 million views, or when a music superstar appears none of whose songs you ever heard. It is consumed by people you see on the streets, but dont interact with, because they usually dont have a dialogue tree.

yes. EA turns off the online on EAFC 24 when EAFC 25 comes out so you have to buy it if you wanna keep playing lol

some of my friends are football people and they consoom it, I don't get it either

One of the people I shared a house with was a massive Arsenal fan and she obsessively played it online. She got really angry at the game and was always in gamer rage when she lost. But yeah I think she basically liked roleplaying as her team.

yup, my brother exists, plus consoooming fifa is a national trend in every single latam country since we really love football like we love dragon ball Z

Realistic soccer games are completely alien to me. About as tempting as Mario Kart with a single course and no items.

Imagine a soccer game with a Dragon Ball license.

Tennis games are actually really fun, sue me

Mass marketing and its consequences were a disaster for the proletarian class.

>Realistic soccer games
The reason why soccer games are boring is not because of realism but rather because they're trying to simulate association football. Most arcade soccer games are basically 5-on-5 football with special moves. Go watch one futsal game, it's fucking insane.

Wanting to play online and with the updated rosters are the main reasons. Also, while they're largely the same game every year, there are incremental gameplay improvements. You'd be surprised by how complex they are these days, picrel

Sports games are fun, period. It shouldn't be surprising that vidya versions of time-tested and popular sports (read: games) are popular.

For your own benefit, don't say things like this.
