From my understanding people who can't afford to pay a game and pirate it would still not buy it when locked behind denuvo. They would just not play it at all through piracy

>boohoo you won't pay up for my shitty aaa goyslop so I'll just lock it up behind a horrible server based DRM making life miserable even for my paid audience

Two piracy threads? Anyway, basically yes. Most studies point towards what you're saying and also that piracy can actually help a game's popularity, in a word-of-mouth type of way.
The suits, of course, cannot admit to this or bring this up ever, lest it kill their narrative that one pirate copy = one lost sale.
DENUVO is specially egregious because of the online verification and the bloated encryption that throttles the game's performance. This was true when it first came out and it's still true today, it's tested repeatedly, no amount of company brouhaha will change that fact. It's equal parts hilarious and offensive how the paying customer is the one that gets fucked.
I refuse to buy DENUVO games. I'm big into rallying and I've yet to play the latest WRC release by EA. Came out a year and half ago, still not cracked.
I refuse. I'll stay on Dirt Rally and Richard Burns forever if I have to, motherfucker

I hate denuvo but it seems to work considering few people can crack and its spread everywhere. I'm still playing the busted ass smt v vengeance in switch emus that only have in-game compatibility because nobody could crack it. Suits dont gaf about their paid audience and theyll happily pay the very high fees that denuvo charges them

>why do companies want to make sure their IP doesn't get stolen at any cost
Good question.

>>41255
>IP
>stolen
This isn't a liberal imageboard, go back to stealing the workers' income, bougie.

>>41264
>am I totally radical yet guys???????
Lol you can't call others "libs" for correctly analyzing a situation as it actually happens in reality, a reality under a capitalist mode of production, and piss your pants that people don't pretend the ideals in your head are the reality instead.

Stealing IP is good. :)

>>41272
>the ideals in your head are the reality
You're the one using pointless abstraction like "IP." Ideas can't be stolen, you idealist. DRM is installed because the bougies are concerned about "lost profits," also a thing that's entirely in their heads. You're not calling anyone out, you're just being a pretentious pseudo-intellectual ass.

>>41275
>erm this major abstraction that you can go to jail over is actually fake because I say so
>you are an """idealist""" for talking about existing phenomena under capitalism because they won't exist under communism
you sound like an utter retard unable to read lmfao, whats next, money is not "real" so talking about it is idealism? fucking imbecile

>>41275
>>41287
oh also this is just golden
>pretentious pseudo-intellectual ass
retard doesnt even understand what idealism remotely entails while engaging in it LMAO, just peak leftoid discourse

this is what happens when you read philosophy instead of marx

>Why do the bourgeois do thing?
<They do it to protect what capitalist society recognizes as property.
>Oh, so you want to maintain property you fucking traitor glowie bourg shill buzzword buzzword buzzword?
I'm speechless.

>strawman
>strawman
>NO U

Infantile disorder. I wasn't arguing against the things you mentioned.

>>41291
