Vampire survivors
Do you like Lord of the Rings? Check out LOTR:Conquest, an old hack n slash game, found a recent repack with widescreen support, works even on linux (through proton).
https://archive.org/details/the-lord-of-the-rings-conquest.-7zThe guy also has whole bunch of other old abandonware repacks for modern systems.
Balatro
Play Into the Breach. It's roguelite as in arcadey so you can fuck up and restart no problem
Super Mario bros.
Sidmeier's simgolf is abandonware and as easy as you make it, because you design the golf courses you play. There's something satisfying about building a sprawling digital golf course, idk.
IDK maybe an rpg
Shin Megami Tensei 5 is pretty and has good music
Tetris effect
The Old World
Severed Steel is a pretty fun and easy movement shooter I played recently, seems great for drug gaming
In no particular order:
BeamNG.drive - Driving sim with very realistic crash physics and lots of mods. Plenty of way to goof off.
Baldur's Gate 3 - But it can be very complex and overwhelming immediately if you're not familiar with D&D 5E's rule set.
Cruelty Squad - First person shooter with a unique art style
Dave the Diver - Kind of like Motherload meets Diner Dash. Wasn't for me, but many people seem to like it
Dredge - Story-heavy fishing game
Subnautica - Open-world survival, but in the ocean
Embr - Co-op or solo firefighting game
FAITH - A modern, 8-bit horror game
Firewatch - Basically a playable choose-your-own-adventure book, but choices don't drastically change the story. Some like it a lot, but some don't.
A Game About Digging A Hole - Motherload in your back yard. Can be finished in one sitting.
How Fish is Made - A playable story. Can be finished in about 20 minutes
Iron Lung - Very cinematic game about piloting a submarine. Can be finished in one sitting
Journey - Story-heavy platformer
Mouthwashing - Playable story about the crew of a space ship with a unique art style. One playthrough can be done in one sitting, but you may want to do more than one playthrough
My Summer Car - A game about building a car. Can be infuriating to some people, but others find those same things very entertaining.
Schedule 1 - Drug dealing and crime sim with a unique art style
Slime Rancher - Kinda like Harvest Moon, but more chill
The Stanley Parable - Some like it a lot, others dislike it a lot, usually for the same reasons
Superliminal - A puzzle game that utilizes non-euclidian geometry and optical illusions as game mechanics. Very trippy and satisfying (to me)
Tower Wizard - An auto-clicker that can be finished in a day
Stray - A game where you play as a cat trying to return home
PowerWash Simulator - Pretty self-explanatory. Has surprisingly deep lore buried in the mission descriptions. Very satisfying to play.
>>45940After recommending this game I booted it up for the first time in years and I realized I forgot to mention if you play it you have to go to properties and stick it in compatibility mode for XP, service pack 3 or it won't run. After doing that it runs perfectly.
Pic is my 8 holes (so far) sandbox course I'm working on.
