Is Toby fox petty bourgeoisie/a porky? Genuine question, i mean he doesn’t really own capital aside from the intellectual property right of his games and his team or whatever owns their own means of production, are all indie games just Little Hitlerite Small Businesses™️? Who cares anyway the games are just transhumanistslop at the end of the day

i used to fret a lot about this kind of thing before i recognized that class interests are only a good guide to broad aggregates rather than as a tool for analyzing individuals. elon musk would still be a dickhead if he was a proletarian and toby fox would probably still basically be alright even if he set up an unambiguous bourgeois firm. while you can use aggregate interests to explain some individual behaviors, others will inherently be incongruous.

e.g. some bourgeois will act against their interests as bourgeois because they are "good people", some will act against their interests - in a harmful way - because they are "bad people", the mistake liberals make is to think that you can rely on the "good people" to shift the aggregate. the mistake many leftists make is to think that the existence of the aggregate precludes the existence of individual "good people".

>he doesn’t really own capital aside from the intellectual property right of his games
that's a pretty big aside, OP

By this standard almost every author is bourgeois. You would be in some infinitesimal sense bourgeois through owning the copyright to your posts on this site, every photograph you've ever taken, etc.

<class as a moral qualifier
its all so tiresome

>is this literal multimillionaire a petit booj guise???????!! he doesnt own le factory!!!!!!!!11

why are amerilards so utterly fucking retarded when it comes to class analysis bruh

>>46541
youre SO close to getting it man

>You would be in some infinitesimal sense bourgeois through owning the copyright to your posts on this site, every photograph you've ever taken, etc.

nvm youre plain retarded and dishonest

also like yeah all artists are petit bourgeois but class position is not a moral judgement so caring about this shit is loser without a personality behavior lmfao. marx loved art and authors like shakespeare!

if you live off of property then you're porky even if its bullshit made up intellectual property, I've said my piece

>>46534
He is technically petty bourg because he employs people.
But individuals are capable of rejecting their own class interests. See Engels.

>because he employs people
again, why are amerilards so utterly fucking retarded when it comes to class analysis bruh (2). thats not the single only attribute of the pb lol. fucking read

>But individuals are capable of rejecting their own class interests. See Engels.
also oh you mean one of the few who bothered to study the class struggle extensively and scientifically? yeah im sure this happens all the time!

PETTY BOURGEOIS IS ANYONE I PERSONALLY RESENT OR ENVY

>>46541
>By this standard almost every author is bourgeois
insofar as the petty bourgeoisie can also include the self-employed, yes. Marx doesn't say this explicitly. we could also choose categorize as petty porkies those who actually employ people, but at a smaller scale than the typical porky. this then includes Toby Fox, assuming he has hired people to do art for him rather then giving them a direct cut of the profits
all this is mostly beside the point, because as >>46543 says Marxism is not moralfaggotry

>>46551
Marxism is not moralfaggotry in theory, but you'd be very naive indeed to imagine Marxists don't treat their categories as moral ones in practice.
