Just because you reject a state's narrative, doesn't mean its inhabitants do. Especially since that state is still standing.

Most people who buy thoses games just wanna shoot stuffs on screen. I don't think the narrative even cross their minds.

I don't, because they're garbage. Politics has nothing to do with it. I've never played a Call of Duty game in my life and probably never will, but I would if I actually considered one worthy of my time. If other intelligence agencies funded and made games that were worthy of my time, I'd play those, too. I don't think playing or not playing a video game is any kind of valid moral statement; you can accept that a piece of art is well-crafted and enjoy it even if you don't agree with its message.

Unfortunately, Call of Duty just plain sucks.

While we're on the subject, I'm liking Far Cry 6 rather a lot. The storyline is so bland and uninspired that I'm making my own up in my head as I go along, but the gameplay is addictive, and it's an openly anti-fascist game that does not paint the U.S. as the good guys.

Honestly, I'd argue that the first three Modern Warfare games, Black Ops and even Infinite Warfare are appreciable because they portray all sides as being filled with violent psychos willing to kill for their cause. The only real difference is that the Americans win in the end, but they're never really presented as morally superior. The remakes on the other hand are frankly crap because they try to inject a sense of moral complexity, but it just doesn't work.

Also every single CoD villain is basically in the right. Their grievances against the US and NATO are more than justified, but the writers always throw in some “let’s nuke New York” plot point to make them irredeemable. Even the Martian separatists from Infinite had a point.
