I don't, because they're garbage. Politics has nothing to do with it. I've never played a Call of Duty game in my life and probably never will, but I would if I actually considered one worthy of my time. If other intelligence agencies funded and made games that were worthy of my time, I'd play those, too. I don't think playing or not playing a video game is any kind of valid moral statement; you can accept that a piece of art is well-crafted and enjoy it even if you don't agree with its message.

Unfortunately, Call of Duty just plain sucks.

While we're on the subject, I'm liking Far Cry 6 rather a lot. The storyline is so bland and uninspired that I'm making my own up in my head as I go along, but the gameplay is addictive, and it's an openly anti-fascist game that does not paint the U.S. as the good guys.

Honestly, I'd argue that the first three Modern Warfare games, Black Ops and even Infinite Warfare are appreciable because they portray all sides as being filled with violent psychos willing to kill for their cause. The only real difference is that the Americans win in the end, but they're never really presented as morally superior. The remakes on the other hand are frankly crap because they try to inject a sense of moral complexity, but it just doesn't work.

CoD has been abysmal dogshit post BO2 and its "narrative" took a straight nose dive after Cod 4. I mean, the campaigns for the most part are just over the top schlock and literally is the 1/3rd of the game literally no one cares about. Its like watching porn for the story. Its literally "operator culture" capshit that won't even last a few years of relevance due to being an online only game for the 2/3rds ppl actually give a shit about multiplayer and zombies.

Ken Levine lost a Twitter argument to the woke crowd and tried to fix Daisy with retcons through the Burial At Sea DLCs. After Israel is destroyed we'll spare him for being one of the good ones willing to accept constructive criticism. Also his next game (Judas) seems like a spiritual successor to his Bioshock stuff but on a much more expansive/immersive sim scale like Prey, so I'm rooting for it to succeed.
