I'm too busy making my own project

I mean you can call someone that reads books a reader, but being a reader isn't seen as in-of-itself an identity like people seem to treat being a gamer as.

I'm only a gamer in-so-far as I play videogames regularly (in bursts but those bursts come pretty consistently) and enjoy seeing them made and played by others, but It's something that only applies to me while I'm engaging with the medium directly / semi-directly.

There's nothing wrong with being a consumer, but gamers believe in the virtue ethics of consumption as if they are fine craftsmen. They are proud of being the best at sitting inside all day and being a seething degenerate like Asmongold or Hasan. Their belief in "getting good" at games like Dark Souls reflects the neoliberal imperative to "make rational choices so you don't die homeless in the street by failing to jump through the hoops of the healthcare industry".
