Imagine waiting 20 years for a new classicvania-style Castlevania game. The last one in this style, aside from the terrible Lords of Midnight game on the 3DS, was for the Nintendo Wii in, like, 2008: Castlevania: Adventure Rebirth. A series known for its extravagant art style, beautiful baroque-esque paintings and character designs with a wonderful gothic flavor. And instead of hiring Japanese artists to honor a Japanese series, they hire Western Tumblr-trained artists who completely desexualize and ruin all of the theming and have no soul whatsoever. I bought all of the recent Castlevania collections solely with the hope that by supporting the series, a new game would be made. Regretful purchases.

First of all, the fact anime artstyle is now so deeply rooted in the west it is considered "western tumblr art" by philistines, really demonstrates total Japanese cultural victory.
Second, while I do prefer the baroque painting style, design-wise the old succubus is just a woman. Boring. The new design is far more fitting for a mischievous sex demon.
