Been bingeing a few of these. Most are extremely low effort, and it's overall a bit of a forced subgenre, but some stuff can be genuinely spooky.

Local 58 is nice
It's a really untapped form of narrative even still, I feel
>>25465The concept is typically better than execution.
Much of the time that the creators are too young to actually remember cassettes and analog public TV channels is very obvious.
Some are good. Local58 generally is solid most of the time. As is the Gemini Home Entertainment.
The Mandela Catalog is extremely forced as 'spooky' for as popular as it is. Being almost a parody of itself imo.

>>26571The only parts of the channel that is worth while is the videos about space
>>25465Is MFP analog horror?
>>26605I love Mystery Flesh Pit. Lovecraftian jurassic park-type capitalist hubris with body horror. I don't know if it is analog horror. It's more like an scp.
>Monument Mythos is actually not that much horrorThat Freedom Statue video fucked me up though.
>>26449It's called Skinamarink
It's on Shudder or you can just find a torrent on rarbg.to
Also there's a limited theatrical run in the US and Canada right now if you can find a showing near you
>>37377It was already oversaturated and dying when this thread was made a year ago
I think it's part of the larger trend of "prestige cerebral horror" kicked off by Hereditary combined with creepypasta-type horror that quickly devolved into cheap tricks and jumpscares instead of coming up with anything interesting in the cliche-driven algorithm-driven environment of social media
