Yes, I watched this show as a little kid. My little brother was obsessed with it and had all the action figures. My mother is an art hoe, so she was impressed that the turtles were named after famous artists.

That's because Eastman wanted to write a parody of Daredevil but took it too seriously and made Daredevil with turtles instead. The earliest art of Mickelangelo was actually hilarious, reminds me of how Imaishi came up with Panty and Stocking while being drunk as fuck with his friend.

The comics were grittier, the originals anyway. Still love the 80s version though… also it holds a special place in my heart just for the fact that Nunchuks depicted in it triggered the Thatcherite British broadcasters.

03 one was good and closer to the mirage comics in some ways. The 80s turtles are goofy as hell but that’s supposed to be its charm. I like both for different reasons.
