Toki Pona (literally "good language") is a philosophical artistic constructed language with a small number of words, ranging from 120 to 140 or a little more, designed for talking about things by explaining them in simple terms. This results in a vague but surprisingly usable (complex topics can be expressed by proficient speakers) vocabulary that heavily relies on context to be understood. It was created by General Musk (or Amatullah Lang or Madame Lang or kulupu Sonjalanko or whatever name she is using) initially in 2001 and since it has evolved through its (relatively) big community, with new words being created and adopted and many works like music, games, books (translations and original writtings), videos and so being made in this language.

I was thinking about making a thread for Toki Pona myself recently. I haven't been able to study it much, but I absolutely adore writing it using sitelen pona. Is there anyway to type in sitelen pona on leftypol?

yeah, sitelen pona is so much fun. specially with elongated pi, ala, anu and prepositions.

sitelen pona is not on the unicode (only in UCSUR), so it is not included in fonts, so nobody has a font with sitelen pona, so it would be senseless to try it. and leftypol doesn't provide a sitelen pona font either. so i guess you could post an image and provide the alt text.

Yeah, I was wondering if there were any other people interested in Toki Pona on leftypol. Now I know!

I didn't know that these words had elongated versions! I've only just started ti imagine modifications to the glyphs for my own purposes. One such thing that I've been doing is changing the positions of the clock hands for the "tenpo" glyph to reflect the time that's being spoken about.

That's sounds interesting, I might adopt it for my personal writings. Do you have more things like this?

When you do and you get good would you like to translate communist theory? I have tried but many things are complicated to translate (maybe they're easy when in context I don't know):

proletariat - jan pali, jan pi jo ala.
bourgeois - jan jo, jan pi jo suli.
petty-bourgeois - jan pi jo lili.
dictatorship (of the proletariat) - lawa (pi jan pali).
dialectics - utala jasima, utala pi jasima tu (fight of opposites).
historical materialism - nasin pi kama sona pi pini pi kulupu jan pi ¿? (I don't really know how to translate "materialism" and this term is too length and has too many nested pi's anyways…).
