>>2325077>Communist groups are still fringe as hell in the USABernie the "democratic socialist" seemed to attract big crowds just a few years ago and DSA had 90,000 members. Doesn't matter that they are libs those people still exist and are willing to go left.
Basic crowd psychology here but as soon as people see someone is getting mass support they join in. When they think they are isolated they hold back.

Bernard sandals isn't a communist. He ran as a Democrat, followed the rules, and still got cucked by the party twice. If that's your example of momentum that just proves my point.
90,000 members? Most are inactive. Signing a form online isn't organizing.
>>2325138The mass demonstrations definitely helped. There's nothing more popular than popularity.
I think though that Bernie also benefitted from being personally likeable, having a message that resonated, a coherent vision of the future, but most importantly of all a strong bureaucratic institution behind him to induct and onboard people. One of the Dem party's few virtues was its organizational ability to connect, collect, and conduct people. A major fault I've seen with local socialist orgs is that they manage to interest people, who come to a meeting or two, see how disorganized or directionless they are, and lose interest and drift away.
