Dubai reports fire at Jebel Ali Port
The Duabi Media Office is reporting a fire at one of the berths of the Jebel Ali Port after it was hit by a debris from an “aerial interception”.
In a post on X, the office said that Dubai’s Civil Defense teams are “continuing their efforts to fully extinguish the fire” at the commercial port, which is the largest in the Middle East.
There were no details about casualties from the fire.
The post also warned the public against distributing an “old video” of the fire in the same port in 2021 “as it could spread misleading information”.
Jebel Ali Port is located just south of Palm Jumeirah, where an explosion was reported earlier.
Israeli military says one person killed in Iranian missile strike on Israel
Israeli forces said their Home Front Command units are operating at the site of a missile impact in central Israel, where fighters and rescue teams are conducting extensive searches to locate and free people trapped under rubble.
Home Front Command Commander Major General Shai Klapper said the incident involved the death of a civilian as a result of what he described as an Iranian missile strike.
“This is an unfortunate incident in which a civilian was killed by an Iranian missile strike. We are studying the incident,” Klapper said, according to the statement. He added that forces on the ground had focused on rescuing those trapped and saving lives.
“Complex days lie ahead. Your mission is to arrive quickly at the scene and save lives,” he said.
