<Latest Trump:

>“I don’t have the yips with respect to boots on the ground — like every president says, ‘There will be no boots on the ground.’ I don’t say it,” Trump said after launching strikes Saturday to decapitate Iran’s military and political leadership. “I say ‘probably don’t need them,’ [or] ‘if they were necessary.'”
>“It’s going to go pretty quickly,” he said. “We’re right on schedule, way ahead of schedule in terms of leadership — 49 killed — and that was, you know, going to take, we figured, at least four weeks, and we did it in one day.”
>“We’re already substantially ahead of our time projections, but whatever the time is, it’s OK, whatever it takes, we will always and we have from right from the beginning.
>“We projected four to five weeks but we have capability to go far longer than that.
>"We can stop all trade with Spain"

fizzle chads, is this another w for us? im tired of winning…

Here’s what happened today
Here’s a quick recap of the main developments today:
>• Trump says he ordered US forces to join Israel’s attack on Iran because he believed Tehran was about to strike first – a rationale that contradicts the account offered by his state secretary, Rubio, on how the war began.
<• Iran continues attacks on Israel and US targets in the Middle East for a fourth night, with strikes reported on Washington’s embassy in Dubai and a port in the city of Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates.
>• The US and Israel keep up attacks on Iran, hitting the building of the Assembly of Experts in the city of Qom, as the death toll in the country since Saturday rises to at least 787.
<• In Lebanon, Israel has bombed Beirut and Sidon and authorised troops to take additional positions in the southern parts of the country.
>• Trump says the US is prepared to deploy the Navy to escort tankers through the Strait of Hormuz after the IRGC declared the vital waterway closed – a disruption already rippling through the region, with Iraq slowing or halting oil production at the Rumaila field and the West Qurna 2 project.
<• Qatari authorities say they have busted two sleeper cells operating for the IRGC and arrested at least 10 suspects.

Go and make a thread to cry about it then, this is the Iran thread you megautistic.

Apparently now it's totally fine for white western imperial core so-called "leftists" who never left their parent's basment to be racist towards Kurds, even when they've actively fought and died for revolutionary socialism for decades…
Because uhhm now they aren't based anymore because the hitlerian Shia theocrats say so, and also because the Americans/Zionist entity want to balkanise, vapourize and annihilate Iranian people and therefore want to "support" (read: prostitute) desperate Kurds for the 1000th time as a part of this strategy… so in short it's is apparently the Iranian Kurds own fault that Trump now wants to poke and prod them into an uprising?
Make it make sense…

‘Third wave’ of US attacks still to come and expected to be ‘biggest yet’
[Trump] has said in the past 24 hours – and this has also been said by Marco Rubio – that there have been a number of waves of attacks by the Americans, but the third wave will be the biggest yet. And that has still to come.
That would fit in with what we have heard from Dan Caine, who is the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, on Monday, when he said they were still moving more military hardware into the region.
That also suggests that the Americans went before they were fully ready. The fact is, they are still moving hardware – ships, planes, soldiers – into the region to carry out more operations.

CENTCOM says Iran’s ability to strike back is ‘declining’
The US military says that Iran has launched over 500 ballistic missiles and more than 2,000 drones in retaliation for the US and Israeli strikes, but that Iran is facing a “lingering launch capability” due to ongoing attacks on missiles and launchers.
“We are seeing Iran’s ability to hit us, and our partners, is declining, while our combat power, on the other hand, is building. And my overall operational assessment is that we are ahead of our game plan,” said Cooper.

>>2718341
Considering the rotting corpse wouldn't listen to the joint chiefs and instead plotted with bibi, kegsbreath and narco lubio, and considering the CIA flunkies were already there I'd say boots are already on the ground with many more to follow. If the cic has Alzheimer's, which appears to be the case, and the conspirators in charge are bloodthirsty then the death toll will dwarf every deployment since WWII combined. Iran has home advantage, the geography and dense populations are a logistical nightmare. If they plan to "finish the job" they started the highest casualties will come to mercenary groups first but it will spillover as it drags on and Americans will continue to die for Israel.

The British maritime security tracker has reported an incident off the UAE saying a vessel struck by an unknown projectile.
“UKMTO has received a report of an incident 7NM east of Fujairah, United Arab Emirates. The Master reported the vessel being struck by an unknown projectile causing damage to the steel plating,” UKMTO said in a warning.
“There has been no fire or water intake. All crew reported safe. Authorities are investigating.”

Kurdish Iranian groups in Iraq eye opportunity for change at home

>Iraq's autonomous Kurdistan region has long been a haven for Kurdish Iranian armed factions, which have repeatedly faced cross-border strikes from Iran.

>"We cannot take the side of either the Americans or the Iranians. Our cause is different… our goal is democratic change in Iran – a democracy that will benefit the Kurdish people," said Mazloum Haftan, a senior commander in the Party of Free Life of Kurdistan (PJAK).

>"We will neither attack Iran nor defend the current regime. We have chosen a third path: working towards democratic, peaceful change," the 54-year-old added.

That's nice of him.

>An AFP team of journalists met Haftan and his fellow fighters in a bunker carved into a rugged mountainous area, now blanketed with snow, near the border with Iran.

>Iran has designated his group as a terrorist organisation, and many Iranian Kurdish groups like his have previously fought Iranian security forces in Kurdish-majority areas along the border.

>But in recent years, they have largely refrained from armed activity, although they continue to actively campaign from exile against the Islamic republic.

>They recently stepped up their lobbying after mass anti-government protests in Iran that sparked a deadly crackdown, and as the United States conducted a military build-up in the region not seen in decades.

<If war breaks out, Haftan said he believes Iran might target Kurdish opposition positions in northern Iraq.

He called it.
https://www.jpost.com/middle-east/article-888638
Iran targets Kurdistan Region in Iraq, seeks to make it a war zone - analysis
<Iran attacks Kurdish groups in Iraq, using militias to strike US forces and neighbors, seeking to turn Iraq into a strategic buffer zone against uprisings in Kurdish areas of Iran.

>He also said Iranian authorities have already started boosting their security and military presence in Kurdish-majority areas of western Iran.

>The impact of any US strikes would very much depend on how far they go. Should they go as far as effecting regime change, Haftan said groups like his would aim for "a decentralised system after having tried the monarchy and the Supreme Leader rule".

Based Democratic Confederalist Libertarian Socialism

>Last week, the PJAK and another four exiled groups announced a political coalition to seek the overthrow of Iran's Islamic republic and ultimately to secure Kurdish self-determination.

>Kurdish opposition groups have long supported anti-government protests in Iran. Last month, they called for a general strike in support of the demonstrations.

<In 2022, Iran launched deadly military strikes on exiled Kurdish Iranian militants, accusing them of instigating protests sparked by the death in custody of Kurdish Iranian woman Mahsa Amini.

<In Iran, "the Kurds have been at the forefront of the struggle for democracy and freedom. When one leads people, one must pay a price—we have paid in blood," Haftan said.

>The Kurds, whose community spans areas of Turkey through Syria, Iraq and Iran, make up one of Iran's most important non-Persian ethnic minority groups.

>The Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (PDKI) is one of the oldest and biggest Kurdish Iranian opposition groups, and it has lost fighters and commanders, including three of its chiefs, to Iranian fire.

>Despite his enmity with the Iranian state, PDKI commander Mohammed Nazif Kader told AFP over the phone his group has not supported Israeli or American attacks on the Islamic republic.

based anti-imperialism

>"Our coalition relies on the Iranian people, especially the Kurds," he said.

>But "if a war breaks out, it will likely create an opportunity for the Iranian opposition to return" and "seek to establish a democratic system".

But it would be awesome if Israel and America did bomb Iran. Kurds always got to have it both ways.
>"We are on full alert and fully prepared… and for all forms of struggle," he added.

Syria sends thousands of troops to Lebanon border, sources say

Syria's defense ministry says it has reinforced its border with Lebanon.
Eight Syrian and Lebanese ‌sources have told Reuters this includes rocket units and thousands of troops as the Iran conflict spreads in the region, including fighting between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon.
The sources included five Syrian military officers, a Syrian security official and two Lebanese security officials who spoke on condition of anonymity.
The Syrian defense ministry said in a statement on Wednesday that the army has reinforced its deployment along the Syrian borders with Lebanon and Iraq as part of efforts to “protect and control the borders amid the escalating regional conflict”.
The Syrian officers, including a senior member of the military, said the move was aimed at preventing arms and drugs smuggling as well blocking Iran-backed Lebanese Hezbollah or other militants from infiltrating Syria.

US army commander boasts operation in Iran 'double the scale' of Iraq invasion
The US military commander in the Middle East said that American forces struck about 2,000 targets in Iran.
"We have severely degraded Iran's air defenses and destroyed hundreds of Iran's ballistic missiles, launchers and drones," Admiral Brad Cooper of US Central Command said.
"The first 24 hours of this operation were nearly double the scale" of the first day of shock-and-awe strikes on Iraq in 2003, "and we continue with 24/7 strikes into Iran," he added.

France sending aircraft carrier to Mediterranean to secure maritime traffic
French President Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday said France was sending its aircraft carrier, Charles de Gaulle, to the Mediterranean and working to build a coalition that would help secure maritime traffic imperilled by the US-Israeli war on Iran.
Macron said that action was needed, given that the Strait of Hormuz is closed and the Suez Canal and Red Sea shipping routes are threatened by the escalating crisis.
"We have economic interests to protect, because oil prices, gas prices and the international trade situation are being profoundly disrupted by this war," Macron said.
He said France had also sent a frigate to Cyprus and had shot down drones in the skies above its Gulf allies, per its defence agreements with them.

Arent all these articles just circular reporting on the same claim/statement?

Turkey's pro-Kurdish party on Sunday criticised the US-Israeli war on Iran, saying it opposed “external designs” on the country.
“It is clear that global and regional powers are, as in other historical examples, seeking to establish a new order in Iran that would no longer pose a threat to themselves, rather than prioritizing democracy and freedoms,” the Peoples' Equality and Democracy (Dem) Party said in a statement.
The party, which has the third-largest number of MPs in parliament, said the ongoing strikes do not serve the expectations of a new, free life for minorities in the country, including Kurds, Balochs, Christians and Azerbaijanis.

An Axios report late on Monday said that US President Donald Trump spoke by phone with Kurdish leaders in Iraq over the weekend to discuss the US-Israeli war on Iran and what might come next.
Israeli and American forces targeted several Iranian military posts in western Iran on Monday near the Iraqi border, where thousands of Kurdish Peshmerga security forces are present.
The report added that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had lobbied Trump for months to make the calls to Iraqi Kurdish leaders Massoud Barzani and Bafel Talabani, arguing that “the Kurds were going to rise up”, according to one official.
“When he first came over and sat with Trump for hours, you would have thought Netanyahu had it all figured out,” the official said.
“He had the successor planned out. He had the Kurds all figured out - two sets of Kurdish groups here and there. This many people are going to rise up,” the official added.

Turkish Dem Party rejects US regime change
However, Turkey's Dem Party, a political group with ties to Kurds in Iran, offered a more nuanced take on the US-Israeli operations.
“We are witnessing examples that demonstrate the ongoing air strikes do not create conditions that would correspond to the expectations of a new, free life for Kurds, Baloch, Christians, Azerbaijanis, and Persian communities in Iran.”
“We have not forgotten and will not forget the killings of Jina Mahsa Amini, Mujahid Kurkur, Dr Qasimlo, Ramin Hossein Panahi, and tens of thousands of other Iranians of different identities by the Mullah regime,” the party said.
“However, we continue to maintain that change in the current regime in Iran should come not through external designs but through the collective will of its peoples.”

On Tuesday, in an address to the parliament, Dem co-chair Tulay Hatimogulları described the US-Israeli attacks on Iran as “wars of imperialism aimed at redesigning the global system on a worldwide scale”, adding that authoritarian regimes in the region were acting as proxies for imperialist powers.
“While the US and Israel were continuing negotiations with Iran at the table, they launched attacks on Iran; there is a possibility that this war could engulf the entire region,” she said.
“It has already spread to Iraq, Lebanon and the Gulf countries. In these attacks, a girls' primary school in Iran was struck," Hatimogulları added, noting that more than 150 schoolgirls were killed.

No. Different guys in both articles I posted. The other article posted didn't mention an Israeli ground invasion. It's interesting the Israeli media is putting out there as a headline. The only thing the PKK and its local franchises care about is creating a Kurdish state with Ocelan as their Saddam Hussein. The quickest way for them to do that is to do what other ethno nationalists have done in Eastern Europe and the Middle East: find a great power that will use them as mercs. Defense executives to meet at White House on more weapons
The Trump administration plans to meet with executives from the biggest U.S. defense contractors at the White House on Friday to discuss accelerating weapons production, five sources told Reuters.
Companies including Lockheed Martin and Raytheon parent RTX, along with other key suppliers, have been invited to attend the meeting, the people said, speaking on condition of anonymity because the discussions are private.
The meeting underscores the urgency felt in Washington to shore up weapons stocks after the Iran operation drew heavily on munitions.
Since Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022 and Israel began military operations in Gaza, the U.S. has drawn down billions of dollars' worth of weapons stockpiles, including artillery systems, ammunition and anti-tank missiles.
The conflict in Iran has consumed longer-range missiles than those furnished to Kyiv.
At least one of the people said the gathering was expected to center on pressing weapons makers to move faster to boost output.
Lockheed, the Pentagon and White House did not immediately respond to requests for comment. RTX declined to comment.

I'm sure they are, but it makes sense for them to be lower. The level of ordinance that airstrikes can deliver is typically larger than what you see on ballistic missiles. The Americans and Israelis also have a lot more shelter infrastructure than the Iranians. Most importantly the Iranians don't really have any way to repel the Ziomerican airstrikes, whereas the missile interceptors are still able to seriously reduce the effectiveness of the Iranian attacks (at least until they run out). There's no way around the fact that the imperialists enjoy substantial technical superiority so we should expect Iran to get hit harder than Israel. This won't be enough to win of course, but it's pretty much inevitable that more Iranians will die than Americans or Israelis.

Thats because Judaism no longer exists. Over the past 100 years, Judaism has been functionally replaced by zionism. This is as true for the major international Jewish institutions and organizations as it is for nearly all of the smaller local religious centers and communal organizations. So when 95% of jews are bloodthirsty zionists, nobody gives a fuck or should give a fuck about antisemitism anymore, even Left-wing jews are antisemites now. They will be carrying Judaism into the next generation, without Zionism. That's the deal, and the anti-semitism will stop.

Leftwing acclerationism doesn't care about actual movements or political organization, just rooting for the opposite team of the mainstream. They don't care about people, or how they're living.
If there was a socialist party for election in [INSERT COUNTRY], the accelerationist view would be to oppose the election as it doesn't bring anything closer to revolution. And when there is a revolution, it's automatically a color revolution.

Why didn't burgers assassinate Saddam Khamenei style?

Obviously after Iraq and US knows it cannot afford to be bogged down in another war of that scale so it's limiting its operations in preparation for the grand war to end all wars.

What's funny is that the US considered replacing Saddam with another Ba'athist but non close to him accepted. Could the assassination mean the US found a replacement this time?

This is of course discounting the biggest factor here which is capital dealing with overproduction through mindless destruction.

I've heard that they have some production and storage facilities underground, but I wouldn't assume that they are impervious to attack. The fact that Iran seems to be pursuing a strategy of widening and escalating the war though seems to indicate that they are prepared for a protracted conflict. The longer this drags on the more pressure the Americans will face both domestically and from the Gulf Arabs to bring it to an end.

>>2718826
I suspect the Iranian plan is to bait the Americans into a ground invasion where they will be completely bogged down and slowly annihilated as morale falls apart. Hitting the gulf arab countries just puts more pressure on the US to divert Iran's attention away from the Saudi oil fields by sending troops. The way I see it the US only has two options in this war
>Beg for a ceasefire so they can salvage the global economy before oil prices quadruple
>Send in ground troops to distract the Iranians and switch from a air bombardment strategy to a traditional combat front like Ukraine that puts the US at a disadvantage.
Both options are bad for the US, and this situation could break down if Iran's missile capabilities are disabled, so I assume the Iranians thought this through and heavily prioritized protecting their missile launchers and factories. The US could always surprise us with their intel gathering capabilities though.

>>2718826

>>2718837
>>2718838
The war is not between individual states but between opposing imperialist fronts of which Iran is part of.

>>2718841
which empire is Iran a part of?

>>2718833
The real strategy is to saturate the air defences of Israel until they can strap a nuke onto a missile and slap it on Tel Aviv. Iran already has the bomb, they just want to make sure that it can be delivered without an embarassing shootdown.
>inb4 "If they have such a device, why keep it a secret?"

>>2718843
Wouldn't that make it a world war?

>>2718832
>so I assume the Iranians thought this through and heavily prioritized protecting their missile launchers and factories
They have some factories that are underground and presumably would be protected by most bombings, and their launchers are usually truck mounted and mobile, made from readily available civilian vehicles. So they can likely replace these in the long term, but the question remains whether the imperialists can potentially destroy them fast enough that Iran's missile capabilities are significantly diminished. Essentially the Epsteinites are in a race to destroy a sufficient number of missiles and/or launchers before they run out of interceptors. Some reports are saying that at the current rate this could happen to the Gulf States as early as next week, but I don't think figures for Israel and the US bases are publicly available.

>>2718845
The newer hypersonic missiles can penetrate air defenses easier so maybe.

The Israelis are clearly trying to goad the Gulf Arabs into joining the war. However one factor that I saw mentioned by an Iranian analyst (vidrel, I highly recommend) regarding this is that if they did, the Houthis would almost certainly join and force them to fight on two fronts. In addition, the Gulf air forces are technically advanced but not very large. Their contribution to the existing Ziomerican air power would be negligible, and a lot of it would be spent fruitlessly chasing the Houthis through the desert. I'm sure the Saudis had enough of that after being humiliated for 8 years straight the last time they tried this.

Thread activity is declining. Have low-stamina sizzleheads thrown in the towel? Do they now feel the inexorable fizzle coming as we're heading to a week with not a single Israeli official punished?

Iran has all the military capabilities and production it needs, but as usual, (1) Iran doesn't hit the most punishing targets because it wants a diplomatic retreat at the expense of full deterrence, (2) the decent moves Iran does make, such as the Hormuz closure, aren't pursued long enough to cause real pain. If Iran were serious, it would keep Hormuz closed for at least six months.

He's not particularly well-liked among the Ehud Barak and Clinton/Obama spook types.

>>2719053

One thing Iran did is that to destroy the illusion of protection and guaranteed security that the US provided to the arab monarchies.
why have they become financial outposts in the world? because of the false sense of security they provided. without this, and tourism, this regimes will suffer a lot of economic distress.
this, and putting a knife on the neck of 1/5th of total global gas trade route, and an important oil trade route, Iran has made it clear they won't go down without breaking whatever illusion of comfort that the US and Europe provides to their citizens.

Hitting energy infrastructure in the Gulf countries was a mistake because the US and Israel badly want those countries to enter the war. The Iranians should have focused on hitting the US bases and embassies only. Seems that decentralized command has allowed some IRGC commanders to go off script.

His passive response is how you know it wasn't a real assassination attempt.

>>2719202
I disagree on the principle, those attacks make a point about how if you get US military assets on your territory you will get bombed in turn when those get used. Democracy (defined as having elections) is not that meaningful. It's just a system, a process. And systems are there to get gamed by the rich and connected. This is why governments in the West are some of the least popular out there, and few feel their governments serve them, even though they're "democratic". It's not without some value, it's at least some input people have into things, but that's all.
Meanwhile Iran is cast as a dictatorship, but they have elections and the people do have some input. The change to Pezeshkian after Raisi was at least some change in the direction of the country (though maybe not a good one), and it was chosen by the people, and probably not one Khamenei or "the theocracy" would have chosen, but that doesn't count for some reason.

They can destroy a carrier.
Lesson learned, evil wins over good because evil is like aggresive cancer cells while good just wants to be left alone. Thats why evil fears bolshevism because it is like a good cancer. This bullshit meekness is the reason for the slow death of BRICS.
Stop trying to play american politics.
Sink a carrier.
TOTAL WAR NAUUUU!!!

>>2719381
Wanting to be left alone would be a massive improvement over wanting to be friends with America even when told no.

>>2719381
Sinking a carrier probably isn't directly relevant to Iran's strategy. If it happens by accident thats good but an aircraft carrier is basically just a floating military base. Iran's plan is just exhausting western resources through a prolonged conflict.
This isn't "good vs evil" but just basic strategy of a nation that is surrounded at all sides by hostile forces and wants to maximize its chances of survival.

>American secretary of defense: "TWO MORE DAYS!"

>>2719348
>Hormuz Oil Traffic

I lose trust in modern anti-western imperialism coalition when Assad fled to russia already.

Trump is gambling on Iran cucking out of destroying a carrier. If Iran calls his bluff, he's finished politically. I think Iran has enough home-grown spine to do that, but other BRICS states will likely pressure a cuckout.

>>2719388
Russia and China are supplying Iran with satellite data for targeting Israeli/American bases so they're at least trying behind the scenes.

>>2719381
>Lesson learned, evil wins over good because evil is like aggresive cancer cells while good just wants to be left alone.

>>2719392
The evidence I've seen for that isn't zero (for China anyway), but it's pretty weak evidence. It stands to reason that if the public evidence were compelling, China wouldn't be able to deny assisting Iran, yet it has denied.

>>2719385
It's kind of difficult to hit a carrier.

It looks big, but the ocean is really big, so the carrier is like a tiny pixel in a satellite image. Also it's moving. They are surrounded by a flotilla of warships with air defense missiles too. But the first problem is finding it, maintaining a track, and being able to synchronize the track with maneuverable weapons that receive instructions from the satellites. This takes a lot of math and science and engineering. China could potentially do it. That is if you're using land-based missiles which is the only thing available to Iran.

>>2719397
Well carriers carry aircraft, their primary protection is they’re supposed to be many many nautical miles away from where the enemy is, as far as the range of the aircraft allow. Therefore if you do try to attack it with missiles you’ve got a fair amount of warning that’s happening and respond to it.

Sailing a carrier right up to the enemy as a show of force is not the recommended strategy in the manual.

The US isn't shy about announcing all the help it gives to Chinese and Russian adversaries, so what we're asked to believe is that China and Russia are too timid to announce giving help to US adversaries but aren't too timid to do so behind the scenes in ways the US is going to learn about anyway. Possible, but eh…

>“The most important thing that came away from this was, number one, we don’t have a plan on how to get out of this,” the Democratic senator said. He added that without a clear plan, there is a risk it could turn into a “long-term war.”

>“We don‘t actually have a concept of victory. We—you know, our justification for going into the war is entirely different from what we‘re hearing from the president right now. Again, this is even after the president went publicly and spoke to that. And that all is a very scary situation. Like, for me, as someone who had to live through some really bad decisions in 2005 that the, you know, the then-administration did, if we don‘t know how we can get out of this war, if we don‘t know what the actual victory is, we‘re seeing potentially a long-term war," he said. He added: “The president has not been very clear how and when it ends. And more importantly, the American public does not want this right now.”

Also powerless. Spain embraced neoliberalism disguised as democracy since the end of the dictatorship. Their opposition to NATO is performative. Podemos, which was at least left-ier than PSOE is now a liberal feminist rag.

Plus Sanchez's government is being proven corrupt as hell, they all are, as we speak. With his coalition weakening. A change of turn to the right which is 100% atlanticist stooges could end up mortgaging the country to NATO in the following 4 years. I don't think the right would have any remorse whatsoever being thinly veiled wreckers a-la Milei.

Nothingburger even if it wasn't a false flag and hit its target. Article 4 and 5 of NATO relies on the attacked state to invoke them and Turkey wouldn't do that since they're opposed to the war.

On /pol/ and in various news and even here I've seen people mock Russia for "not defending Iran" or assisting it militarily (directly). This is such a childish understanding of world economy that it's no wonder that Trump has deluded himself into believe it too. Russia IS busy with its own shit, but that's not WHY it's staying out of it. For all intents and purposes this war is to Russia's benefit, particularly economically and politically.

>1) Oil.

Iran's strangling of the Hormuz, the strikes on various oil refineries and storage as well as in Yemen have disrupted Middle Eastern Oil Export. Iran's export dropped and so has the other nations, which means that importing countries like Europe are going to have an energy crisis. Even China, which relies a decent amount on Iranian oil supplies will be affected. This means that Russian oil becomes much more valuable and a more significant lever for pressuring the West while increasing money in the treasury.
>2) Political Influence and high-ground
The USA is rapidly going mask off and destabilizing the shaky solidarity of the Western bloc*** with its activity as well as the faith the Middle Eastern Nations like Saudia Arabia have in it, this gives potential opportunities for Russia to gain political support. This is especially true due to Iranian civilian casualties, the assassination of the leadership of Iran and attacking it amidst diplomatic discussion as a way to browbeat them into complying with demands. The inability to fully defend airspace from incoming missiles is also a hit to US military prowess.
>3) Military Expenditure
Both sides are using immense numbers of weapons. The US announced that it deployed 50,000 troops, 200+ strike fighters and other forces. Already at least four Billion dollar THAAD systems have been eliminated by Iran*, as well as structural damage to several military bases and airfields, several sunken and damaged ships, shot down 3 F-15Es of the latest model and more including reports from Iran striking a USN Destroyer* in just 4 days of war, not to mention large numbers of missiles and bombs being expended. As of posting, CENTCOM has claimed to have struck 2000 Iranian targets, that's at least 2000 munitions, and usually several missiles are expended on a single large target. Iran is suffering heavy losses as well, 17 ships sunk or damaged so far, mostly struck in port while the IRIS Dana was sunk by submarine, 2 Su-24s shot down, 2 F5s and an F4 destroyed on the ground as well as 2 Su-22s hit on the ground. Numerous missile launchers have been destroyed and while the main bases buried deep underground in the mountains are safe, that's still a significant loss of equipment. This means that Russia has a large potential market in Iran for its arms exports and a lot more leverage to do so. Especially as local and Chinese air-defenses are struggling to keep up. The War also gives Russian and Chinese ISR an opportunity to gather data on US capabilities and prepare accordingly.

Furthermore Iran is safe from any actual regime change at the moment, besides the broader theocratic fury over Khomeini the school and the deaths there from the first day of the war is not going to be forgotten. The Kurds glowies are talking to in North-West Iran and Iraq are small guerilla forces posing no issue for Iran's military**. Iran may not be the best, but it's ground forces are well armed experienced with anti-armor operations. I do not think this is a situation like the First Gulf War where Saddam's forces, worn out from the Iran-Iraq War and with heavily outdated weapons were knocked back by the American coalition. It's definitely not comparable to the Second War where Iraq basically had no organized military. Yet in both wars US ground losses were pretty high, despite propaganda and classifying of data to hide them. American ground forces haven't fought a large scale war like in Iraq in nearly 2 decades, the veterans of those conflicts retired and struggle to acquire the welfare they were promised.
Honestly I'm more worried for Cuba.

TL;DR: The war is strangling Middle Eastern Oil, giving the market to Russia. The USA is destabilizing the world with potential diplomatic fall out. The military expenditure on both sides means a weakened American military in the short-run, causing support for Ukraine and Taiwan to falter and Iran becomes an even bigger customer for Russian arms. There is no way Iran will fall without a ground war and the USA would need to commit everything but a kitchen sink for it, which they can't afford; China is waiting to strike back and Ukraine would surrender in a week if American weapons and ISR stopped flowing in. So as a trade partner and friendly country Iran is safe.

Sirens heard at US embassy in Baghdad
We are getting reports from a security source that sirens have been heard inside the US embassy in the Iraqi capital Baghdad.

Anger in Spain over lack of European solidarity against Iran war
There is outrage in Spain, not just because the United States is essentially embargoing Spanish trade, but also the statement – or the lack of it – from German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, sitting beside the US president when he made those remarks about Spain.

It’s worth noting it was France and Germany that led the charge in 2003 when the Europeans decided the US declared an illegal war on Iraq, based on flimsy evidence.

Now, it is only the Spaniards who essentially stood up and said: “If the principles of Venezuela, Greenland and Ukraine are to be applied equally – then this war does not have any legal footing.”

And that’s why the US president is going after the Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez.

European leaders expect to stand united on the principles that join them, rather than being coerced into whatever position taken by US President Donald Trump.

I think the other advantage for Russia is that the USA is using it's reserve of equipment for the middle east, instead of sending it to Ukraine, the USA's intelligence agencies are also concentrating on Iran and therefore ignoring Ukraine, meaning that Ukraine doesn't get as much information on Russian troop location.
>>2719618

This has been the calculus from Russia and China since the beginning. The goal has always been to let America sink itself into the abyss by wasting all of its political capital and military equipment while exploiting the consequences. They're willing to get Iran to also front the costs because a weakened Iran is advantageous when they get the sweet infrastructure and rebuilding contracts. People that think either of them are going to step in and cause muh WWIII have the morality and politik of a toddler.

Wow you guys are right. Good eye comrades, but I'll say that it looks more like doctored footage or possibly AI than destroying a decoy. >>2719669
AI would honestly look more realistic, it would be wonky as fuck, but the rest of the plane would 'react' to the explosion rather than being stock still like this. The latter superimposition of a still image would be more possible, although I don't doubt that Iran has decoy paintings, they have a lot of good classic skills. and it's worked for both Russian and Ukrainian airfields.
