You couldn’t really replicate this even back then. The Cuban Revolution was a very specific case and the moment this theory was applied to other third world countries it largely failed. In the Congo although the peasants were exploited, they didn’t really have the will or cultural inclination to fight. In Bolivia land reform had already taken place and many Indigenous farmers viewed the military dictator(who was half Indigenous himself) as representing their interests. because of that they reported Che and his colleagues to the Army. I think that if Che had lived longer he might have written a second book on guerrilla warfare and perhaps even disowned the first one, since its ideas ended up getting many revolutionaries in Latin America killed.
