🚨 BREAKING: Footage shows an Iranian missile purportedly striking Nevatim Airbase in southern Israel moments ago.
Nevatim Airbase, located in the Negev desert near Beersheba, is one of Israel’s most important air force installations and hosts advanced fighter squadrons, including F-35 stealth jets, as well as strategic transport and intelligence units.

>>2736561it means we're heading for $200 a barrell
>>2736547>Iran has no ability…Neither have the gulf states, which oil infrastructure underpins the petrodollar, though.
I hope Iran does not allow its capabilities to degrade below the hydrocarbon MAD option being available to them. I also dearly hope they are not relying ton Russia/China systems for that eventuality because I'd expect sabotage from them.
>>2736553Thing is IIRC this mod was released in late 2024 when all this was inevitable.

>>2736561Hard to tell because trump says every strike is the largest lethal strike you ever seen. Iran needs the island to export 90% of their oil, so presumably they will see it as a legitimate reason to escalate. desalination plants? israel nuclear facilities? gulf oil industry? take your pick

nta, but capitalism is as old as the first bourgeoisie, and that's as old as the 10th century. now, the system on itself as form of state, was established England (1642–1651/1688): Described by many as the first successful bourgeois state, following the English Civil War and the Glorious Revolution, which established a government focused on protecting private profit and commerce.

The bourgeoise upon taking over acquired total political and economic supremacy to the point of the average citizen not being able to escape it. Mass proletarianization followed. You just ignore that capitalism came to be by the forced deprivation of property in others. Previous shifts in politics were not as groundbreaking and total as the events of the 1600's, which coincidentally invented the modern nation state a la Westphalian accords. Nations as polities came to be concurrently and interrelatedly with capitalism and protestantism. So if you want to argue about semantics, we have to agree the most significant shifts in modern society that were previously unheard of happened exactly in the mid 1600's. That is the birth of capitalism as a system.

The Military Balance 2025 report, published by the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), estimates that Iran has around 610,000 active-duty personnel.
This includes roughly 350,000 troops in the regular army and about 190,000 members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the powerful parallel force responsible for missiles, drones and regional operations.
The breakdown also includes nearly 18,000 personnel in the navy, 37,000 in the air force and around 15,000 in air defence units, while gendarmerie and paramilitary forces number approximately 40,000.
In addition, Iran is believed to have some 350,000 reservists, including army veterans and volunteer forces.

>production of commodities
exists in socialism, is ended in higher stages of socialism which we are far from
>wage labour
also exists in socialism but is supplanted by profits directly to producers and the state in general as time goes on
>private property
No longer dominant in socialism. Which all socialism countries enforced at the barrel of a gun. This is where the versions of socialism comes in. Depending on the socialist country, you had either no private industry whatsoever or maximum is small/medium enterprise (usually cooperatized the bigger they were). But all major enterprises and strategic enterprises where state-owned.
>class society
Does not exist in socialism on wealth basis which is key to capitalism. A weakness of socialist countries is class based on political power but that is something inevitable and needs more work going forward.
>production of exchange
same as production of commodities but as time goes on, more focus on planning. China for example could plan for multiple housing per family BECAUSE its dominant production mode is NOT exchange based. Exchange is just the form, not the content.

>During the cold war, the anticommunist ideological framework could transform any data about existing communist societies into hostile evidence. If the Soviets refused to negotiate a point, they were intransigent and belligerent; if they appeared willing to make concessions, this was but a skillful ploy to put us off our guard. By opposing arms limitations, they would have demonstrated their aggressive intent; but when in fact they supported most armament treaties, it was because they were mendacious and manipulative. If the churches in the USSR were empty, this demonstrated that religion was suppressed; but if the churches were full, this meant the people were rejecting the regime's atheistic ideology. If the workers went on strike (as happened on infrequent occasions), this was evidence of their alienation from the collectivist system; if they didn't go on strike, this was because they were intimidated and lacked freedom. A scarcity of consumer goods demonstrated the failure of the economic system; an improvement in consumer supplies meant only that the leaders were attempting to placate a restive population and so maintain a firmer hold over them.
>If communists in the United States played an important role struggling for the rights of workers, the poor, African-Americans, women, and others, this was only their guileful way of gathering support among disfranchised groups and gaining power for themselves. How one gained power by fighting for the rights of powerless groups was never explained. What we are dealing with is a nonfalsifiable orthodoxy, so assiduously marketed by the ruling interests that it affected people across the entire political spectrum.

It was in response to the Coastal Road massacre near Tel Aviv by Palestinian militants based in Lebanon. The conflict resulted in the deaths of 1,100–2,000 Lebanese and Palestinians, 20 Israelis, and the internal displacement of 100,000 to 250,000 people in Lebanon. The Israel Defense Forces gained a military victory against the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) as the latter was forced to withdraw from southern Lebanon, preventing it from launching attacks on Israel from across its land border with Lebanon. In response to the outbreak of hostilities, the United Nations Security Council adopted Resolution 425 and Resolution 426 on 19 March 1978, which called on Israel to immediately withdraw its troops from Lebanon and established the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).

Israel under rocket fire from Hezbollah, cluster munitions from Iran
The latest salvo seems to have caused some damage in the Upper Galilee region of Israel. That’s bordering Lebanon. So that’s quite likely to be rocket fire from Hezbollah.
There were earlier strikes that seemed to have taken place across central and southern regions. We have heard of fires in Lod. We have heard of damage to a Bedouin village in the Nege Desert down in the south.
And in central regions – Shoham, that’s near Ben Gurion airport – damage reported there; 30 residents having to be evacuated from a building that had been set on fire.
Rishon LeZion, that’s south of Tel Aviv, a school damaged and an unexploded projective lodged in the road. There was also damage reported in Holon and Yehud.
A lot of the damage that we are being told about at the moment seems to be coming from these cluster missiles that Iran has been launching pretty much consistently for the last week at least and they scatter over a large area.
They disperse these submunitions bomblets. Each of those has about 2.5 kilos [5.5lbs] of explosive in them. You can see why that does quite some damage when it scatters and hasn’t been intercepted by the Israeli air defence.

“This action comes as part of ongoing efforts to enhance security, protect vital sites, and counter any potential threats,” the communications centre said in a post on X.
Iran has been launching missile and drone attacks across the Gulf region, targeting US assets and military bases as well as commercial and civilian sites.

Thick smoke seen rising from Kharg Island but Iran’s military remains intact: Report
Iran’s Fars news agency is reporting that thick smoke has been seen rising from Iran’s Kharg Island, but that Iranian forces continue to operate from there despite Trump’s claims the US “obliterated” military targets on the island.
“The reactivation of defenses on the island within an hour after that round of attacks on Kharg invalidated [Trump’s] claim,” Fars reports.
Fars also reported that more than 15 explosions were heard on the island during the attacks, citing sources in the field.
The sources said that no oil infrastructure was damaged in the attacks.
>>2736985They just want to feel powerful and belong. Insofar as the pretext to feel that way doesn't reflect too badly on them at home, they do not care. And these things, like Zionism, have such institutional support, that everything goes. The USA is never *not* going to see the loss of US hegemony as an existential threat and Israel is just necessary to keep MENA underfoot.
It is, in a way, another example of the imperial boomerang. Much like the surveillance and policing, the mainstream right is importing from Israel the hubris of the hegemon. They feel invincible because they got the USA behind them. The fascist knows that the entire liberal establishment,at the end of the day, is behind their goals materially, and considers them, indispensable.Including their nominal rivals from the liberal left. That's how the euro fascists feel about it as well, under the wing of MAGA and Zionism(atlanticism by another name). Another great Israeli export, hegemonic hubris.
UAE arrests 10 people for posting videos on social media amid conflict
The United Arab Emirates public prosecutor has ordered the arrest of 10 people of different nationalities for posting both real and “fake” videos on social media of the country under attack.
Video content has included the UAE deploying air defence system or being hit by “projectiles”, as well as AI-generated or fabricated videos showing fake explosions, fires, and attacks on prominent landmarks, according to the the UAE’s WAM news agency.
Publishing the video clips, “whether real or fabricated” creates confusion and impacts public security, while providing “hostile media” with material to undermine confidence in the government, according to the public prosecutor.
Defendants face a minimum sentence of one year in prison and a fine of 100,000 dirhams ($27,224) “due to the deliberate deception involved, the attack on public security, the spreading of terror among individuals, and the undermining of social peace,” WAM said.
Apparent interceptions in Qatar, conflict shows no sign of de-escalation
While we were on this rooftop just a few minutes ago the alarm came up on our phone and we heard two explosions very close by.
It appears it was an interception by the Qatari Defence Force from an Iranian projectile. We’re not sure at the moment whether it was a drone or a missile. We didn’t see that part. We just heard the explosion and a plume of smoke not that far away from where we are now.
This just goes to show the escalating nature that this conflict is heading in.
People here in the Gulf, officials from Qatar, from the UAE and across the entire region, have been warning about the the escalation of this conflict and what that could entail.
They’ve been continuously calling for de-escalation and dialogue. People here do not want to see any kind of escalation.
We’re hearing from authorities in Israel, in the US and Iran, about a prolonged conflict, about threats of hitting Iran’s oil fields and Iran threatening they’re going to hit back.
That’s not what people want to hear. That’s the last thing they want to hear. They want to hear about de-escalation and a return to dialogue.

So Trump is threatening to take Kharg Island, yeah? Now I’m just a simple grocer, but wouldn’t that imply making a bunch of sailors and marines run a gauntlet through mines, under rocket fire including anti ship missiles, to land on what I imagine is a pretty fortified beachhead, again while under artillery fire? Then they’ve got to fight what I imagine are entrenched Iranian infantry to seize the island, and defend it from counter attacks and continued barrages from the mainland next door. Then supply the troops (once more running the gauntlet) while they’re constantly bombed?
Sounds like a hell of a way to get a lot of people killed.

https://battlefield.fandom.com/wiki/Kharg_Island>Kharg Island (Persian: جزیره خارگ) is a map featured in Battlefield 3 and is one of the nine maps in the standard edition. The map is inspired by the real-life Kharg Island (or Khark, depending on the romanization). At roughly eight square miles (approximately 20 square kilometers), the island contains an airfield, a paved circuit serving the northern region, and the KHEMCO oil facility in the south. A wildlife refuge is located on an island roughly two miles to the northeast. It is one of the largest maps of the base game.
<In the Rush game mode, the assault begins on the coastline with a well-defended beach that the attacking team need to break through to create a beachhead for further attacks on the island.
>The Americans spawn aboard one of their amphibious assault carriers, the USS Essex. The Russians currently occupy the beach. Alpha is located behind a cluster of rocket launchers and barriers and Bravo is located within a small structure. This is the only time the US team will receive IFVs, and keeping them alive will greatly aid in the later stages of the game.
>LCACs ferry ashore a pair of M1A2 Abrams tanks and several Growler ITVs, limiting the possibility of these vehicles being stolen by the Russians. The Russians are given two T-90s and one Kornet Launcher. Alpha is located at the end of a pipeline and Bravo is located next to a building surrounded by containers.
>Now that the second base has been captured, one tank and several Kornet launchers will be available for the defenders. The attackers will gain a RHIB and an AAV-7A1 AMTRAC to use. Alpha is housed within the second floor of a four-story building. Bravo is placed in front of a building adjacent to a wall surrounding the area.
>The Russians have been forced away from most of the oil facility, but continue to hold the Docks. Alpha is located on the second floor of a large building and Bravo is located in the first floor. One tank will spawn and one Kornet Launcher will be available to use for the defenders. This is the last base. >>2737052that place is humongous. it's to protect the oil in Iraq, obviously.

Iranian state media says Kharg Isle's air defense systems were not completely destroyed. And none of it's oil exporting infrastructure was damaged.
>🚨NEW: Iran’s state-aligned Fars News reports on the situation at Kharg Island after the U.S. attack:
>🔸 Kharg Island was targeted by U.S. airstrikes earlier today, with field sources reporting more than 15 explosions heard across the island.
>🔸 The strikes allegedly attempted to hit army air defense systems, the Joushan naval base, the airport control tower, and a helicopter hangar used by Iran’s offshore oil company.
>🔸 Thick smoke was seen rising from the island, according to on-the-ground observations.
>🔸 Sources said none of the island’s oil export infrastructure was damaged. Iran had previously warned that if its energy infrastructure were attacked, oil and gas facilities across the region linked to the U.S. and its allies could be targeted in retaliation.
>🔸 Trump claimed the U.S. “obliterated” all military targets on Kharg Island.
>🔸 Trump’s comments claiming that the island’s air defense systems were completely destroyed have been contradicted, as air defenses resumed activity hours after the strike.
>Trump has also repeatedly claimed Iran’s missile capabilities have been destroyed, but Iranian officials note their armed forces just carried out the 48th wave of its missile and drone campaign successfully striking US and Israeli targets across the region. The report from Fars has not been independently verified.https://nitter.poast.org/DropSiteNews/status/2032647323516354962#mFrance and Italy open talks with Tehran on safe passage in Strait of Hormuz: FT
The Financial Times is reporting that France and Italy have opened talks with Tehran and are, “seeking to negotiate a deal to guarantee safe passage for their ships through the Strait of Hormuz”.
Citing three people familiar with the matter, the FT said European countries are seeking to restart the export of oil and gas from the Middle East. The report said the talks are still “tentative”.
Al Jazeera could not independently verify the report.
Reuters separately reported that France is putting together a coalition to “secure the Strait of Hormuz”, once the security situation stabilises, citing two French officials.
France has been talking to European, Asian and Gulf Arab states to draft a plan for warships to escort tankers through the strait, Reuters said.
Around 6.2 percent of crude oil and 8.7 percent of LNG imported from non-EU member states passed through the strait in 2024, according to the Germany-based CESifo research network.

Exclusive: Iran lets two gas tankers sail to India through Hormuz, sources say
NEW DELHI, March 13 (Reuters) - Iran has allowed two Indian-flagged liquefied petroleum gas carriers to sail through the Strait of Hormuz, four sources with direct knowledge of the matter said, a rare exception to the Iranian blockade that has disrupted global energy supplies.
The Indian-flagged LPG tanker Shivalik crossed the Strait under escort from the Indian Navy, said two of the sources, and the second vessel, Nanda Devi, was expected to clear in the next few hours.
Since the United States and Israel launched a bombing campaign on Iran, Tehran has largely halted traffic through the strait, which runs past its coast and normally supplies around 20% of global oil and seaborne liquefied natural gas.
Iran has said it will not permit any supplies for the United States or its allies to leave the strait, but India has sought exemptions. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday he had spoken to Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian and discussed the transit of goods and energy from the Gulf.
India has also given safe harbour to 183 Iranian sailors from a vessel that docked after the war broke out. The vessel was one of three that had participated in exercises in India; one of the others was sunk by a U.S. torpedo off Sri Lanka.
India is reeling under its worst gas crisis in decades with the government cutting supplies for industries to shield households from any shortage of cooking gas.
Shivalik and Nanda Devi are owned by state-run Shipping Corp of India.(SCI.NS), opens new tab
Shivalik, which had arrived in Qatari waters on February 25, last reported its position on March 12 as within the exclusive economic zone waters up to 24 miles off the United Arab Emirates, according to tracking data on MarineTraffic.
Nanda Devi was last seen on Friday in Iranian waters close to the entrance of the Strait of Hormuz, according to MarineTraffic data. It had called at Qatar’s Ras Laffan anchorage on February 27 before sailing to UAE waters, the data showed.
Separately, a crude tanker is expected to arrive in India on Saturday carrying Saudi Arabian oil after sailing through the Strait around March 1, according to two of the sources and data from Lloyd's List Intelligence.
The Liberia flagged Smyrni crude oil suezmax tanker, which can carry a maximum capacity of 1 million barrels, is expected to arrive at an Indian port for state refiner Hindustan Petroleum Corp (HPCL.NS), opens new tab.
India's foreign ministry, navy, Shipping Corp and HPCL did not respond to Reuters emails sent out after business hours.
India consumed 33.15 million metric tons of cooking gas last year, with imports accounting for about 60% of demand. About 90% of those imports came from the Middle East.
On Thursday India said 24 Indian-flagged vessels were stuck in the Gulf area past the narrow strait.

<China’s Edge in an Oil Shock: Electric Cars and Renewables
>As the price of oil soars to $100 a barrel and countries scramble to limit the fallout of the sudden loss of Middle East fuel, China has two significant advantages over its geopolitical rivals.
>Many of its new cars run on electricity. And that electricity is mostly powered by sources at home.
>China has spent decades and hundreds of billions of dollars investing in electric vehicles and renewable energy, a long-term strategy that is paying off as other countries grapple with upheavals in the oil market. Beijing has sought to curb its reliance on foreign energy by expanding domestic supply and accelerating the development of alternative power sources, including solar, wind, hydro and nuclear.
>Chinese demand for refined oil, gasoline and diesel fell last year, making a second straight annual decline. This has prompted experts to forecast that China’s oil and gas consumption has peaked and that the country is less vulnerable to energy supply disruptions than it once was.
>“China has a bit of a buffer and cushion compared to other countries,” said Michal Meidan, head of China energy research at the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies, an independent research group. “The supply outages and price hikes do not significantly impact the running of its economy.”
>Oil prices pushed above $100 for the second time in a week amid growing concern that the ongoing fighting will choke traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, the narrow waterway between Iran and Oman that is a vital trading route for oil and natural gas. World leaders agreed to release a record amount of oil from their emergency reserves and President Trump has backed off penalties on some Russian exports, but fears of supply shortages persisted as a growing number of oil and cargo ships became targets.
>While China imports half of its seaborne crude from the Middle East, Beijing has enough breathing room to avoid the kinds of extreme measures that some Asian countries have already adopted, such as shifting to a four-day workweek or closing universities to conserve energy.
>Over the last few years, China has transitioned the world’s largest automobile market from gas-powered cars to electric vehicles faster than any other major global economy. China sold more electric vehicles in 2025 than the rest of the world combined.
>Half of the new cars sold in China are electric vehicles or hybrids that run on both electricity and gas. Around one-third of all new heavy-duty trucks are purely electric, according to the latest available data from the China Passenger Car Association.
<Nury Vittachi
>TAIWAN HAS ONLY TEN DAYS of power left. Now it is scrambling for options, looking at pig poop and coal.
>The Chinese island is in a mess. It followed US instructions to reject Mainland China’s model of solar electrification and nuclear-powered self-sufficiency, instead agreeing to import LNG and other fossil fuels from the US and from US allies in West Asia.
>That now looks like a very bad idea. The island’s power stations run largely on LNG, with about 70% coming from West Asia via the Strait of Hormuz.

>>2736905>BREAKING: Israel is planning to seize the entire area south of Lebanon's Litani River in a massive ground invasion, Israeli and U.S. officials say - AxiosThere are right-wing Israeli journalists saying Israel should take it and turn it into the next Golan Heights, a permanent occupied zone. Makes me think those guys are laying the groundwork for this in terms of communications. They occupied the area in the 80s/90s. The Litani sits in a valley so they want to militarize that, and it's a more natural defensive barrier because it blocks line of sight. It's easier to fire a flat-trajectory bullet or missile from Lebanon into Israel than it is to fire from one side of the Litani to the other, you need more indirect fire weapons. Meanwhile, while eyes are focused on things blowing up in the Persian Gulf, they will spring a big invasion and seize the territory and expel as much of the population there as they can. At least that's what I think they're planning.

hezbollah is probably fucked tbh. they are going to get triple teamed. the army formerly known as al-qaeda (syria) is demining the lebanese border now and israel is increasingly twisting the lebanese government's arm to disarm hezbollah. the lebanese government hasn't done that yet because hezbollah is considerably stronger than their army, but working with al-qaeda and the IOF they can easily overwhelm hezbollah through sheer weight of numbers and firepower.
were i hezbollah i would be dispersing now and preparing for a guerrilla war rather than holding the line like they have been doing.

A fact we must all contend with is that Zionism is absolutely rampant among Jews worldwide. It's the official mandated ideology of almost all Jewish institutions, organizations, and communities.

the breaking of iraq was one of the worst crimes of the late 20th and early 21st century and even you dorks don't talk about it nearly enough. Bush Senior started the process, really, Junior just stuck the dagger into Saddam's belly. millions and millions are dead, and hundreds of thousands detained and brutally tortured for nothing, in a war that absolutely everyone involved (including CPUSA's endorsed candidates, Joseph Robinette Biden and Hillary Clinton, both of whom played key roles in both the creation and the sustenance of the GWOT) knew was a lie when they started it. Even Bush Senior had to bring in the fake testimony from the Kuwaiti ambassador's daughter to gin up public support for the first war. It was all horseshit, and the Iraqis have suffered millions of deaths over 30 years because of it.

>Why I’m Fed Up With ZionismI’ve never cared for Zionism. I’ve always considered Zionists later day Pilgrims: obnoxious, strident, unpleasable, and desperate to find a country on which they could inflict their particular brand of self-absorption.
Correction, I meant a second country. For good or ill, Zionists have imposed their worldview on the United States since the day Harry Truman took a meeting with Eddie Jacobson. And perhaps I’m being unfair to the Pilgrims. At least they conceded that native Wampanoag existed on the land attached to Plymouth Rock, whereas Zionists would’ve declared the land people-free. An approach which streamlined the process of dividing the Palestinians of Palestine into terrorists and corpses.
Until very recently, these were the kind of thoughts a Gentile kept to himself. On Israel, he confined his views to Love it or Fund it, lest he run the risk of being called an antisemite.
It’s easy to be called an antisemite. Especially since no leading Jewish organization seems to know what antisemitism is – current definitions conflate religion, ethnicity, and nationhood into an amorphous trinity intended to stigmatize any act or utterance which hinders arms shipments.
But an amazing thing is happening. More and more, Jews and Gentiles alike are realizing that if Israel is “a light unto the nations” the primary glow is coming from incendiary fires caused by American 2000 pound bombs. So as someone whose first “antisemtic” Op-Ed was published in The Philadelphia Inquirer more than a quarter century ago, I think I have some useful thoughts to offer now that Trump’s Honest Brokerage and its chosen people are once again smiting everything in sight.
To begin with, I am not a “Jew hater”. I hate specific Jews for the specific reason that they attempt to wield their Jewishness to either close off candid conversation regarding Israel, or give hogwash divine sanction. Also, I did not set out to be labeled an antisemite. It’s just that, as a satirist, I’ve always considered unacknowledged hypocrisy to be the wellspring of biting satire… Israel did the rest.
But I had to put in the work and educate myself. I had to read the Bible and histories of the Ancient Near East. I had to learn about Herzl and the Balfour Declaration and the Irgun and the Stern Gang and the Nakba. For events like Sabra and Shatilla and both Intifadas, I was old enough to have experienced the news coverage in real time. Then too, I was fortunate to casually know the late great Gore Vidal, whose work was a major influence.
And as a fellow “antisemite”, I’d like to think Gore would agree with the following observation regarding how Israel is treated by the United States. Namely that – from ambushing the crew of the USS Liberty – to deliberately crushing Rachel Corrie beneath an armored bulldozer – to remorselessly slaughtering the women and children of Gaza – no other nation on earth has garnered unlimited weaponry and a lenient press by combining pathological savagery with pleadings of victimhood.
The world is an unjust place. If it weren’t, Benjamin Netanyahu’s only concern would be how to conceal a cyanide capsule in his navel to cheat getting hanged by the neck until dead while the desiccating carcass of Joe Biden rotted in an adjacent cell. The Congress would not be AIPAC owned and useless, with pro-Israel platitudes dripping from lips and shekels bulging from pockets.
Above all, an honest examination of Israel’s press coverage would penetrate journalism’s holy of holies – the editing room. Tangible, discussable views would no longer be summarily dismissed as tropes, double standards and blood libels. Accuracy would be granted a moment.
For if it’s antisemitic to say rich Jews control the media, it’s accurate to say a Zionist billionaire sold Paramount literally so she could devote more time to Israel. That Paramount was bought by a Zionist billionaire who turned it over to his son, who immediately hired a reactionary Zionist millionaire to run CBS News. Meanwhile, the Zionist father and son purchased WarnerBros.Discovery, thereby guaranteeing run-of-the-war docility at CNN and job security for Dana Bash and Jake Tapper.
If it’s antisemitic to say Jewish opinion is monolithic, it’s accurate to say that on March 1st and 2nd the Opinion page of The New York Times was occupied by Bret Stephens, Thomas Friedman and Ben Rhodes. That respectively, they provided readers with the maniacal Zionist, militaristic Zionist and milquetoast Zionist rationale for the unprovoked war with Iran. All were content to see what happens after lots of innocents died, and the basic preconception of a nuclear-armed Israel’s perpetual right to exist without defined borders or a constitution went unchallenged.
A piece like this is a vanity project. It solves nothing. It’s a despairing shout into a void best described by Jean Renoir: “The awful thing about life is this: Everyone has their reasons.” Words seem worthless in times of madness, and today’s madness is uncharted. Humanity is precariously balanced between possibility and the Iron Age, and the greatest negative weights on the scale are not Jews – who comprise less than 3% of the population of the United States – but Donald Trump and Christian Zionists.
Yet perhaps the least we can do is cling to two truths, one factual, the other biological, through which we may, even now, summon common sense: Nowhere in the annals of recorded history has killing people resulted in the subservience of their surviving relatives; and eventually every last one of us, not just Iranian Revolutionary Guards, face certain death.

>>2737355
Foolish nonsense. anti-colonial struggles weren't all communist but they were all justified and worthy of support. and that's what this is. inter-imperialist conflict ended in 1945. then came the rollback of socialism, finally achieved in 1991. what we are seeing now is the attempted rollback of anti-colonial struggle altogether, to essentially repeal the entire 20th century and return to an 19th colonial order of south subordinated wholly to north. The US is explicit about this (Rubio). Venezuela was the last target, Iran is the current target, and Cuba is next.
And it is not easy to "take the place" of a global hegemon. Hegemony is not a natural order to be taken as a given, nor is the idea of some hypothetical future empire any excuse to abandon anti-colonial struggle. That is actually just whitewashing the empire and preemptively convicting its targets of hypothetical future crimes you've made up in your head, so that you can equate victim to victimizer and call it a wash.
Check yourself.

>Hamas urges Iran not to target Gulf statesHamas calls on Iran to avoid targeting neighboring countries in response to US-‘Israel’ strikes.
The group urges regional cooperation to halt the war and preserve ties among neighboring states.
Hamas on Saturday called on Iran not to target “neighboring countries” in response to the US-‘Israel’ strikes it is facing, urging regional states to cooperate to stop the war.
In a statement, the movement affirmed what it described as Iran’s “right” to respond to the aggression “by all available means in accordance with international norms and laws.” However, it also urged “our brothers in Iran not to target neighboring countries.”
Call for regional cooperation
Hamas called on all countries in the region “to cooperate to stop this aggression and preserve the bonds of brotherhood among them.”
The statement marks a notable development in the group’s stance. Hamas is widely considered an ally of Iran and has received military and financial support from Tehran.
Urging an end to the war
Hamas stressed that “the interest of the Islamic nation and the region lies in stopping this war,” urging all countries and international organizations “to work to halt it immediately.”
The group said it “appreciates all efforts made by different countries to prevent its outbreak and to prioritize dialogue and diplomacy.”
It also reiterated its “strong condemnation of the American-Zionist aggression” against Iran, saying it violates international law and international humanitarian law and threatens security and peace in the region and the world.
