The United States has deployed 10,000 interceptor drones to the Middle East to counter Iranian drone attacks, US Army Secretary Dan Driscoll says.

Iran’s military says it has shot down 111 drones since the start of the Israeli-US war, according to the Revolutionary Guards’ Sepah News portal.

IRGC says five US, Israeli drones ‘tracked and hunted’
The IRGC has announced that five armed drones from Israel and the US were “tracked and hunted” in the past hours by its new defence system, Tasnim reported.
The Guards said the military destroyed an advanced Orbiter 4 drone in Tabriz, Hermes drones in Andimeshk and Tehran, and MQ9 drones in Firouzabad and Bandar Abbas.
The IRGC added that since the war began, its new defence system has so far destroyed “114 various types of spy, combat and attacking drones”.
Israeli missile attack kills six in central Iranian village
Iran’s Fars news agency is reporting that six people have been killed in an Israeli missile attack on a village in the central Markazi province.

Canada joins record oil release to stabilise global markets
Canada says it will contribute 23.6 million barrels of oil to a coordinated emergency release organised by the International Energy Agency (IEA) after disruptions to shipping in the Strait of Hormuz triggered by the Israeli-US war on Iran.
The move forms part of a joint action by the IEA’s 32 member countries, marking the largest strategic oil release in the agency’s history.
Canadian officials say the country, the world’s fourth-largest oil producer, will supply the barrels through the domestic industry in coordination with federal and provincial authorities.
They added that natural gas exports are also expected to increase in the coming months to help stabilise supplies.
Israel says friendship with UAE ‘stands strong’
Israel’s Foreign Ministry has thanked the UAE for its “invaluable assistance” in aiding the return of Israeli citizens from the country amid the war.
“The friendship between Israel and the United Arab Emirates stands strong, proving its worth in times of peace and in times of war,” the ministry added.
The UAE – which has strong commercial and diplomatic ties with Israel – has been consistently targeted by Iran since the war broke out, which has put a strain on travel.

Hezbollah says it fired rockets at Israeli troops in south Lebanon
Hezbollah says it launched rocket attacks targeting Israeli soldiers in southern Lebanon, Lebanon’s National News Agency reported.
In a statement, the group said it “targeted a gathering of Israeli enemy army soldiers at the Fatima Gate on the Lebanese-Palestinian border in the town of Kfarkela with a rocket salvo.”
In a separate statement, it said it had also targeted “a gathering of enemy army soldiers in the southern neighborhood of the city of Khiam, with a rocket salvo.”

US media outlets report possible deployment of amphibious assault ship
Reports are dealing with quite a special military asset; there have been a couple of them that have come out on US media saying that a ship called the USS Tripoli, which is an amphibious assault ship, has been approved by Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, that it can head towards the Middle East.
It’s got 2,000 troops, together with a group of about 2,500 marines. At the moment, these are just US media reports; we’ve obviously asked the Pentagon this ourselves, and we got this from a defence official: “We’ll not speculate on future troop movements or force posture to protect operational security”.
I’ve been speaking to a military expert here about what this means if this ship is heading towards the Middle East, and the important thing about the ship is that it is an amphibious assault ship, which means that it can deploy troops, aircraft, and landing craft from sea onto land during military operations.
Israeli shells hit UN peacekeepers’ base in southern Lebanon
Israeli shelling has struck the headquarters of a Nepalese battalion serving with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) in the southern Lebanese town of Mays al-Jabal, according to local reports.
Lebanon’s National News Agency said shells landed inside the peacekeeping compound. No Nepalese soldiers were reported injured.
The Honorary Consulate General of Nepal in Beirut condemned the attack, warning that targeting UN positions represents a serious breach of international law.
“The Nepalese soldiers participating in UNIFIL have served for many years with a spirit of commitment and discipline to promote peace and stability in southern Lebanon,” the consulate said.
Qatar’s elevated security threat follows evacuations
