US markets down, oil prices up as Iran war escalates and inflation rises
Oil prices continue their climb after Iran threatened retaliatory strikes on Gulf oil production facilities.
This, coupled with a concerning inflation report, weighed on US markets on Wednesday: The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed down more than 1.5 percent, while the S&P and the Nasdaq also fell by more than one percent.
Investors were not reassured by Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell’s assertion that the US economy remains strong and that interest rates will likely be cut before the end of the year.
Powell also noted that growth and jobs are holding steady in the United States but the inflation report showed that inflation rose to 3.4 percent last month – and that was even before the war started.
Powell, meanwhile, did acknowledge that the longer the war continues and the higher oil prices go, the more of an impact that will eventually have on the US economy.
Saudi warning to Iran that ‘nonpolitical options’ on the table ‘very significant’
The most significant thing that the Saudi Foreign Minster Prince Faisal bin Farhan told reporters after the diplomatic meeting in Riyadh was that Iran needed to reconsider its course; that these attacks needed to stop, or he said, that they would review their actions because political options are on the table, as well as nonpolitical options.
That’s hugely significant, because GCC countries have been saying for the past two weeks that they want de-escalation and they want dialogue. They’ve been at pains to stress that this is not their war to fight, and that their posture is very much one of defence, not offense.
So the fact that now the Saudi foreign minister is talking about nonpolitical options being on the table is very significant.
He went on to say that Iran’s actions would backfire politically and morally. He talked about the fact that he felt that Iran attacking Riyadh and the Ras Laffan industrial complex in Qatar while this meeting was ongoing in Riyadh was an attempt for the Iranians to blackmail Arab and Islamic countries.
He said they would not be blackmailed; they would not be intimidated, also said that they were very clear that there would be nonpolitical options on the table.

Qatar says Iran crossed ‘red lines’, calls for de-escalation
Qatar’s foreign ministry has released another statement following Iran’s attack on its Ras Laffan gas facility.
“The brutal Iranian attacks on countries in the region have crossed all red lines by targeting civilians, civilian infrastructure……and vital facilities,” the statement said.
“The ministry stresses the need to spare the region the consequences of these unjustified attacks… and to work towards de-escalation in order to restore regional and international security and stability.”

France’s top diplomat to visit Lebanon to show ‘support, solidarity’
Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot is set to visit Lebanon to show “France’s support and solidarity with the Lebanese people,” according to his office.
Barrot will meet with Lebanon’s President Joseph Aoun, Prime Minister Nawaf Salam and Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, the agency reported, citing a statement from the French foreign ministry.
It cited the ministry as saying that the people of Lebanon have been “dragged into a war they didn’t choose”.
Barrot spoke by phone with his Israeli and US counterparts earlier on Wednesday.
The European Union has meanwhile called on Israel to halt its war on Lebanon which has killed at least 968 people and displaced more than one million in just over two weeks.
“The EU is deeply concerned about the ongoing Israeli offensive in Lebanon which already has devastating humanitarian consequences and risks triggering a prolonged conflict,” a spokesperson said in a statement, adding that “Israel should cease its operations in Lebanon”.
Saudi reserves right to ‘military action’ after Iranian attack
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud says Riyadh reserves the right to take military action against Iran if necessary, following attacks on two refineries in the Saudi capital.
Speaking to reporters after a meeting of foreign ministers in Riyadh, he said Iran must “review its misjudgements”, stressing that such attacks will not bring Tehran any gains.
Prince Faisal said Iran “doesn’t believe in talking to its neighbours” and instead “tries to pressure its neighbours”, adding that this approach will not succeed and will “backfire politically and morally” on Tehran.
Explosions in central Israel as military warns of new Iranian missiles

Iran’s attacks on Gulf neighbours causing ‘anger, disappointment’
Khaled Batarfi, a Saudi-Arabia based political analyst, says Iran’s attacks on its neighbours across the Gulf region have left people “angry and disappointed and shocked”.
“We tried our best in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf region and all the cool heads in the region tried to stop this from happening,” said Batarfi. “Iran knows it, because they need us to send messages to America. They used Oman to help them negotiate. They used everyone.”
The analyst said it was difficult to understand why Iran appeared to be directing more attacks at its neighbours than at Israel and the US, and suggested it may in part be the result of the assassinations that took place on the first day of the war.
“All the cool heads, all the intelligent people in Iran are now underground, and that’s what’s happening when the Revolutionary Guards are taking over, because they don’t think, they just push the buttons,” he said.

"Taybeh Ambush": Hezbollah targets 6 Merkava tanks, inflicting casualties on the occupation forces.
The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon reported that its fighters targeted a Merkava tank in Baydar al-Faqani in the town of Taybeh with a guided missile at 00:05 on Thursday, March 19, achieving a direct hit.
• At 01:15, the resistance launched another guided missile at 3 additional tanks, resulting in direct hits, bringing the number of tanks targeted to 4.
• At 1:30 AM, the resistance launched guided missiles at two additional tanks in the same location, bringing the total number of tanks targeted to six at the time of this statement. The resistance continues to target the area with rocket and artillery fire, amidst heavy overflights by Israeli warplanes and helicopters.
<Details of the Taybeh ambush
In detail, the resistance stated that the occupation army attempted, for the third time in a week, to advance towards the Al-Baydar Al-Faqani area north of Taybeh. After spotting the enemy forces, resistance fighters set up a well-planned ambush, targeting the force with guided missiles that directly destroyed a tank.
The occupation forces tried to continue advancing towards the Abu Makna area in Deir Siryan, but were targeted again by resistance missiles, which led to the destruction of 5 additional "Merkava" tanks, and enemy soldiers were seen fleeing from the area of engagement.
Following that, the occupation brought in a number of helicopters to evacuate the wounded under heavy fire and smoke cover, but the Mujahideen targeted the evacuation area with rocket salvos and artillery shells, and the firing continued until the moment the statement was issued.
<Occupation forces killed and wounded in ambush in Taybeh
Sources told Al-Mayadeen earlier that an Israeli armored force was ambushed by the Islamic Resistance in the town of Taybeh. Initially, the force was targeted with a guided missile, resulting in a direct hit on a tank. When the rest of the force attempted to evacuate the casualties under heavy fire, the Resistance surprised them with several guided missiles, destroying three tanks and killing and wounding the soldiers inside and nearby.
Our correspondent in southern Lebanon explained that the confrontation is ongoing, and that the enemy is still being targeted by resistance fighters, while Israeli warplanes are carrying out air raids on the town of Taybeh, and Israeli helicopters are flying overhead after targeting the occupation forces that had infiltrated the town, with casualties among their ranks as a result of the violent clashes.
Israeli media reported that the security incident was serious, and that military censorship had imposed a ban on details.
She noted that the toll since the beginning of the war on the Lebanese border has reached two dead from the engineering corps of the "91" division, and 12 wounded from the "Givati" brigade.
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Navy announces targeting of US bases: Commanders' residence and fuel tanks hit
The Public Relations Department of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in Iran announced that the Guard's naval force carried out extensive operations within the 63rd wave of Operation "True Promise 4", targeting the "Menhad" and "Al Dhafra" bases in the UAE, the "Al-Adiri" helicopter base in Kuwait, and the "Mina Salman" base, the headquarters of the US Fifth Fleet in Bahrain.
The statement said that the joint operation, which included missiles and drones, resulted in damage to the commanders' residence building, fuel tanks and equipment halls at the "Minhad" base, and that early warning radars and the central platform at the "Al-Adiri" base were also targeted.
The statement added that fuel tanks and early warning radars at Al Dhafra base and the US Fifth Fleet headquarters at Mina Salman port were hit by devastating cruise and ballistic missiles and drones.
The Revolutionary Guard confirmed that its navy is ready to defend Iran’s water borders in the Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, and that it is prepared to confront any possible conspiracy from enemies.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0_6jC4o0ZGkQatarEnergy says new Iranian missile attacks caused ‘sizeable fires’
QatarEnergy says “sizeable fires” have broken out at several of its liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities following the latest Iranian attacks on the Ras Laffan Industrial City.
These were “in addition to the previous attack on Ras Laffan Industrial City on Wednesday” that “resulted in extensive damage to the Pearl GTL (Gas-to-Liquids) facility,” QatarEnergy said.
There has been “extensive further damage” from the new attacks, with emergency response teams “deployed immediately” and no reported casualties, QatarEnergy added.
Trump says ‘no more attacks will be made by Israel’ on Iran’s South Pars gasfield
Trump has criticised the Israeli raid on Iran’s South Pars field, which prompted Tehran’s attacks on energy sites across the Gulf.
In a statement on his Truth Social platform, Trump wrote: “Israel, out of anger for what has taken place in the Middle East, has violently lashed out at a major facility known as South Pars Gas Field in Iran. A relatively small section of the whole has been hit.
“The United States knew nothing about this particular attack, and the country of Qatar was in no way, shape, or form, involved with it, nor did it have any idea that it was going to happen. Unfortunately, Iran did not know this, or any of the pertinent facts pertaining to the South Pars attack, and unjustifiably and unfairly attacked a portion of Qatar’s LNG Gas facility. NO MORE ATTACKS WILL BE MADE BY ISRAEL pertaining to this extremely important and valuable South Pars Field.”
Trump warns Iran of ‘massive’ attacks if it strikes Qatar’s energy sites again
He said Israel will not be attacking the South Pars gasfield unless Iran “unwisely decides to attack a very innocent, in this case, Qatar”.
In such a scenario, the US, “with or without the help or consent of Israel, will massively blow up the entirety of the South Pars Gas Field at an amount of strength and power that Iran has never seen or witnessed before”, Trump wrote on Truth Social.
“I do not want to authorize this level of violence and destruction because of the long term implications that it will have on the future of Iran, but if Qatar’s LNG is again attacked, I will not hesitate to do so,” he added.
>>2745604whats the context of that first clip with the Venezuelans?

It's just damage control from Trump. They're always working in tandem and using US weaponry and resources, don't forget this.

30 hours. I guess their washing machines all run on gasoline or something.
http://archive.today/WosVl>It took more than 30 hours for sailors to put out the fire aboard the aircraft carrier Gerald R. Ford last week, sailors and military officials said, as the beleaguered ship continued its monthslong slog through President Trump’s military operations.>The fire started in the ship’s main laundry area last Thursday. By the time it was over, more than 600 sailors and crew members had lost their beds and have since been bunking down on floors and tables, officials said.>The U.S. military’s Central Command said two sailors received treatment for “non-life-threatening injuries.” People on the ship reported that dozens of service members suffered smoke inhalation. And in the category of non-life-threatening, but still not ideal, many sailors have not been able to do laundry since the fire.

Yeap, another "blunder", another "dragged into", "miscalculation", "got embroiled in", "bad intel", "mistakes were made"… except blaming Israel is perfect because it only adds fuel to the Zionist culture war with no real bite. the Israel lobby is behind this attack but this attempt by Trump and co to shift all the blame to Israhell is pathetic.
The Israel lobby existed under Obama, under Biden, and under Bush Jr. Shockingly, none of these three presidents decided to attack Iran. The only conclusion magatards can draw from this is that Bush jr and Obama were way less zio than Trump, which is retarded.
A much more reasonable conclusion is that Donald John Trump, a president who constantly talked about bombing Iran, who withdrew from the JCPOA and assassinated Iranian generals, decided to spark a war with Iran because he wanted to, and this embolden the Israelis to act. And magatards are surprised by this because they have the autism score of a starved hunter gatherer, and had collectively deluded themselves during the previous elections that the president who bragged about drone striking Iranian generals is the 'peace candidate'. Instead of accepting the reality that they were simply retarded, magatards were inventing increasingly absurd copes about how their peace candidate is bewitched by AIPAC rabbis and Mossad

Khrushchev.

>How does this war in the Middle-East that's destroying energy markets and the global economy in any way shape or form beneficial to the US?
American control over Iran will shore up the petrodollar system and guarantee continued American financial dominance for the short and medium term. Overthrowing Iran's government will also stop a major source of drone production for Russia and strengthen the US in their negotiations against Putin to force an end to the Ukrainian war. Iran can also serve as a new terrorist training hub for jihadists or spies. They can be trained in Iran and then sent over into China to wreak havoc like how Afghanistan used to be a forward operating base to send jihadists into Xinjiang. There's also a lot of personal benefits for the people currently in the American government who have all invested in weapons manufacturers companies like Lockheed Martin which are flush with profit from new orders and new wars. This war causing oil crises in multiple nations running out of fuel imports can also benefit America because now they can send the IMF to tons of nations in economic distress to implement structural "reforms" (read: austerity and better contracts for American companies) in exchange for financial aid.

War enters new phase after strikes on key energy facilities
The Iran war has entered an “energy infrastructure phase” after the Israeli attack on the South Pars gasfield and retaliatory Iranian attacks on energy facilities in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, an analyst says.
Hamidreza Azizi, a visiting fellow at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs, said Israel’s attack marked “a shift toward targeting the country’s economic backbone rather than purely military assets”.
Iran’s retaliatory strikes across the Gulf indicated a “deliberate strategy to regionalise the energy confrontation and globalise its impacts by imposing extra pressure on the energy market”.
“Iran’s expanding retaliation reflects a shift in its strategic thinking: rather than proportional responses, Tehran increasingly appears to be operating under a new strategy of escalation above the threshold set by its adversaries, aiming to correct what it sees as past miscalculations caused by restraint,” said Azizi.

Haifa oil refinery hit in missile strike in Israel: Energy minister
The Bazan Group oil refinery has been struck by a missile attack in Haifa. Israel’s national ambulance service, Magen David Adom, said one person was lightly injured.
Israeli Energy Minister Eli Cohen said there was no significant damage to infrastructure sites. He said power has been restored to most of the residences disconnected and will be restored to the remaining affected areas shortly.
Iran intensified its attacks on oil and natural gas facilities around the Gulf on Thursday, raising the stakes in a war that is sending shock waves through the global economy.
Iraq condemns strikes on Middle East energy facilities
Iraq has condemned recent air strikes on oil-and-gas facilities in the Middle East as the US-Israel war on Iran threatens its already battered economy.
“Recent attacks targeting energy facilities in several of Iraq’s neighbouring countries and other brotherly nations in the region constitute a worrying escalation that threatens to undermine efforts to reduce tensions and jeopardise stability,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Baghdad stressed the importance of “ensuring continuous supplies to global energy markets” following severe disruption to the Strait of Hormuz, through which Iraq previously exported the majority of its oil.

Carriers such as Eurowings have extended some suspensions as far as late June.

Here are some of his remarks:
>urkiye has been in contact with the United States and Iran to understand where they stand in the Middle East war, and its efforts to end the conflict will continue.
<Turkiye conveyed “friendly” advice to Iran to avoid spreading the war with the US and Israel further in the Middle East.
>Tehran’s attacks on regional countries are “unacceptable”.
<Israel is the main perpetrator of the Middle East war, but Iran has a “historic responsibility” not to strike neighbouring nations.

Hezbollah strikes Kiryat Shmona, targets the Tifn base and occupation settlements
The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon - Hezbollah - continues to carry out its military operations "in defense of Lebanon and its people," and in continuation of confronting Israeli infiltration attempts and attacks.
The resistance said that its fighters targeted the "Tefen" base, east of the occupied city of Acre, with a rocket salvo at 10:00 AM (Beirut time).
As part of the warning it issued to the northern settlements, resistance fighters targeted the settlement of "Kiryat Shmona" for the fourth time today with a rocket salvo at 12:20 noon, and also targeted the settlement of "Even Menachem" with a similar salvo at noon.
<Bombing of border and newly established sites
In response to the enemy's attempts to establish military positions, resistance fighters targeted the newly established site in "Nimr al-Jamal" opposite the border town of Alma al-Shaab with a rocket salvo, and the "Adather" site (Mount Adir) at 10:00 AM.
The resistance also targeted, at dawn today, the "Miskav Am" site opposite the border town of Adaysah with a rocket salvo.
Regarding targeting the movements of Israeli enemy soldiers, the resisance announced that it targeted a gathering of Israeli occupation army soldiers in the Al-Labouneh area with a missile salvo.
It also targeted another gathering in "Kherbet al-Manara" opposite the border town of Houla at dawn.
This morning, the occupation army attempted, for the third time in a week, to advance towards the Al-Baydar Al-Faqani area north of Taybeh. After spotting the enemy forces, resistance fighters set up a well-planned ambush , targeting the Israeli force with guided missiles, which resulted in the destruction of several Israeli tanks.
Iran's Revolutionary Guard and Army target US Fifth Fleet and several Israeli bases
Iran’s Revolutionary Guard announced details of the targets it struck in the 64th wave of Operation “True Promise 4”.
The Revolutionary Guard confirmed that it had "successfully" targeted the Fifth Naval Fleet of the terrorist US Army with precise strikes using medium-range missiles.
This wave targeted locations in the central and northern regions of the Israeli entity, including Ben Gurion Airport, which is the main location for enemy combat gatherings, operations, combat support, and fuel tankers, according to the Guards statement.
The strikes targeted the central front in Haifa, where the forces were concentrated, the Haifa refineries, and Rishon LeZion, using powerful missiles such as the Qadr, Emad, and Khaibar Shakan, and nine multi-warhead Khorramshahr missiles.
<"The settlers will not leave the shelters."
The Revolutionary Guard described the lives of Israeli settlers in shelters as the general situation in the Israeli entity, threatening that they "will not be able to leave the shelters."
He added that since the beginning of the previous 63rd wave, "Israel" has witnessed the detention of more than 5 million settlers in shelters for long periods.
The Revolutionary Guard recalled what the martyr Qassem Soleimani said to the Israelis: “We are the men of this field, and we will not leave you alone and we will make you regret it.”
He pointed out that the 65th wave of Operation “True Promise 4” is still ongoing, and “this is the smallest response to the aggression and attacks of the American-Israeli aggression.”
<Targeting commercial and news networks and headquarters of ground units
For its part, the Iranian army confirmed that it targeted, with drones, including a new batch of suicide drones, the Israeli Ministry of Internal Security and the Crisis Management Center headquarters of "Channel 13" in occupied Jerusalem at dawn on Thursday.
The army explained that what was targeted is one of the most important commercial and news networks, and one of the arms of psychological warfare operations against Iran, and it has a pivotal role in monitoring the news of the successes of Iran and the resistance front.
The army also targeted, according to its statement No. 35, the strategically located “Arar” base, which is considered the eye of the Israeli entity near the borders of Lebanon and Syria, and is one of the main headquarters of the enemy’s ground forces units.
The army stated that its operations today were a response to the crimes of the Israeli entity and revenge for the blood of the martyrs of the frigate "Dena" and the martyr Iranian Intelligence Minister Ismail Khatib.
The Revolutionary Guard continues to respond to the American-Israeli aggression and crimes against Iran by targeting American military bases in the region and deep inside the occupying entity in waves of bombing.
Iran also responded to the Israeli attack on the South Pars gas field in the country. This response came in the form of the 63rd wave of Operation "True Promise 4," which targeted oil facilities linked to Washington in the region, and 80 military targets in the south, center, and deep within the occupied territories.
In this context, the spokesman for the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters in Iran, Lieutenant Colonel Ibrahim Zolfaghari, announced that the response is currently underway and has not yet been completed.

Israeli media has reported that a fire has broken out at Israel’s Bazan oil refinery in Haifa following a series of missile strikes by Iran. The plant is considered the largest and most critical facility in Israel, supplying about 50-60% of the country’s fuel.
Reports also suggest that the Krayot suburbs of the Haifa region have been experiencing power outages as a result of the Iranian attacks.

Joint statement from the leaders of the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Japan on the Strait of Hormuz: 19 March 2026
<We condemn in the strongest terms recent attacks by Iran on unarmed commercial vessels in the Gulf, attacks on civilian infrastructure including oil and gas installations, and the de facto closure of the Strait of Hormuz by Iranian forces.
<We express our deep concern about the escalating conflict. We call on Iran to cease immediately its threats, laying of mines, drone and missile attacks and other attempts to block the Strait to commercial shipping, and to comply with UN Security Council Resolution 2817.
<Freedom of navigation is a fundamental principle of international law, including under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.
<The effects of Iran’s actions will be felt by people in all parts of the world, especially the most vulnerable.
<Consistent with UNSC Resolution 2817, we emphasise that such interference with international shipping and the disruption of global energy supply chains constitute a threat to international peace and security. In this regard, we call for an immediate comprehensive moratorium on attacks on civilian infrastructure, including oil and gas installations.
<We express our readiness to contribute to appropriate efforts to ensure safe passage through the Strait. We welcome the commitment of nations who are engaging in preparatory planning.
<We welcome the International Energy Agency decision to authorise a coordinated release of strategic petroleum reserves. We will take other steps to stabilise energy markets, including working with certain producing nations to increase output.
<We will also work to provide support for the most affected nations, including through the United Nations and the IFIs.
<Maritime security and freedom of navigation benefit all countries. We call on all states to respect international law and uphold the fundamental principles of international prosperity and security.https://www.gov.uk/government/news/joint-statement-from-the-leaders-of-the-united-kingdom-france-germany-italy-the-netherlands-and-japan-on-the-strait-of-hormuz-19-march-2026 Southern Lebanon faces outages as Israeli assault damages major power substation

UAE official condemns Iran’s attacks on civilian infrastructure
Anwar Gargash, a diplomatic adviser to the UAE’s president, slammed Iran for targeting civilian and economic infrastructure, saying these attacks constitute a violation of international and humanitarian law.
They also represent a dangerous step that undermines the international order and regional stability, he said.
Gargash called for the immediate cessation of Iranian attacks against neighbouring countries.
Iran demands ‘clarity’ from Germany on US airbase Ramstein
Tehran has asked Berlin to clarify the role of the Ramstein airbase in the US-Israel war on Iran, its ambassador to Germany, Majid Nili says.
“We have asked them to clarify or explain regarding the role of Ramstein,” Nili said, adding that “the role of Ramstein is not officially clear for us”.
“Till now, we don’t have any answer,” he said.
Japan’s PM highlights global economic impact of US-Israeli war on Iran
We know two things so far following the press briefing between US President Donald Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi – firstly that Trump has an expectation that Japan should “step up” as 90 percent of its imported oil comes via the Strait of Hormuz.
Ahead of this meeting, a joint statement was put out by some NATO leaders and Japan that essentially signalled US allies would not be sending ships to the strait but instead would contribute what they call “appropriate efforts”. So basically so far, Japan and European allies have signalled political but not military support.
Takaichi went further than anyone expected by talking about the significant impacts of the war on the global economy.
Trump has so far tried to project that, militarily, the United States has done well and Iran is decimated, but there’s no arguing the impact of this war has had rippled effects through the global economy, and Takaichi expressed that very clearly.
She proposed ideas she said will calm the global energy markets as the price of oil and gas is spiking.
She agreed Iran can’t have a nuclear weapon, condemned the attacks that have occurred and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. But Takaichi says she’s also looking for a way to bring this conflict to a close and, in her words, “achieve peace and harmony”.

Benchmark US oil contract West Texas Intermediate (WTI) briefly rose more than 5 percent to more than $100 a barrel on fears for global supplies during the Middle East war.
At 16:05 GMT, the WTI price for delivery in April rose 2.29 percent to $98.53 per barrel, while international oil benchmark Brent North Sea crude gained 2.01 percent to $109.54 per barrel.
Consumers are already feeling the effects of the war and its destabilising effect on worldwide energy production. Petrol prices are climbing, and many people will find some of the most immediate economic pain at the pump.

In response to the attack on the Pars gas field, Iran targeted the Haifa power station in occupied Palestine.
Iranian television announced on Thursday that Tehran targeted the Haifa power station in the occupied territories, in retaliation for the Israeli-American aggression that targeted the South Pars gas field.
For its part, Israeli media had earlier acknowledged that Iranian missiles had fallen on the petrochemical plant in Haifa Bay, damaging a vital facility, and noted that electricity was cut off in Haifa Bay after the Iranian attack.
Israel's Channel 15 reported that there was damage to oil refineries in Haifa in the recent missile attack from Iran.
Sirens sounded along the occupied Palestinian coast, in the center, in occupied Ashkelon and its oil pier, causing millions of settlers to flee to shelters, according to Israeli media.
The Iranian Oil Ministry announced on Wednesday that a number of facilities in the Pars Special Economic Zone for Energy in Asaluyeh were attacked by American-Israeli fighter jets, resulting in damage to some facilities.

Not like he's dead or anything grimaces benjACKmin I told him Bibi, stay in the bunker, but he wouldn't listen, he's a real lion, now look where that got him! Three intense waves of “True Promise 4” towards the occupied territories and American bases… What did they include?
The spokesman for the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, Ibrahim Zolfaghari, announced details of the latest waves of military operations within the "True Promise 4" campaign, indicating the targets that were attacked and the missiles used.
<Intercepting and destroying 4 enemy aircraft
In detail, the air defenses of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army and the Revolutionary Guard were able, since last night, to intercept and destroy 4 hostile aircraft in Iranian airspace, according to Zulfiqari.
In the context of the offensive operations, the Haifa and Ashdod refineries , which are among the largest oil refining sectors of the Israeli entity, along with a group of security targets and Israeli military support centers in this area, were hit by precise point-fire missiles as part of the 65th wave of Operation “True Promise 4”.
He confirmed the use of the “Nasrallah” missile system for the first time, explaining that it represents an improved and guided version of the “Qadr” system, within the framework of developing the missile capabilities used in operations.
The attacks also included the use of Qiam and Zulfiqar medium-range missiles, which targeted American sites and interests in a number of bases, including Al-Kharj base in Saudi Arabia, which is used to support the refueling of F-16 and F-35 fighter jets and AWACS early warning aircraft, in addition to Sheikh Isa base in Bahrain, and Al-Dhafra base in the UAE.
These bases have been hit with precision strikes using a combination of missiles, including the multi-warhead "Qadr", "Khaibar Shakan", "Qiam" and "Zulfiqar".
<Waves 63 and 64
Regarding the 63rd wave, the statement indicated that about 80 military and logistical points in the south, center and inside the occupied territories were targeted, including the areas of Rishon LeZion, Ramla, Eilat, Ramat Gan, Bnei Brak, Bat Yam and Holon south of Tel Aviv, through multi-warhead missiles and drones, which led to accurate hits by point-and-multi-warhead systems and suicide drones.
As for the 64th wave, it was launched at dawn on Thursday against targets in the central and northern regions of the occupied territories, including Ben Gurion Airport, which is the main site for gatherings and movements of combat support for the occupying entity, including refueling aircraft, as well as the central Haifa front, where the forces are gathered and the Haifa refineries and Rishon LeZion, using the powerful Qadr, Emad and Khaibar Shaken systems, and 9 Khorramshahr multi-warhead missiles.
The Khatam al-Anbiya headquarters also indicated that the US Army's Fifth Fleet suffered precise hits by medium-range systems powered by liquid and solid fuel.
<5 million in shelters
According to Zulfiqari, these attacks have led to "a prolonged confinement of more than 5 million people in the occupied territories inside shelters."
The spokesman concluded by emphasizing that "the field costs incurred by the enemies cannot be compensated for by hypothetical talk," stressing that important points in the occupied territories have been subjected to attacks since this morning by drones belonging to the brave and zealous army of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

War On Iran: – Refineries Hit – Oil Passage Toll To Pay For Iranian Damage
<MoA - March 19, 2026
>Iran has, as promised yesterday, responded to the USraeli attack on its energy installations by hitting refineries and gas facilities in several Persian Gulf countries.
>Qatar spoke of ‘extensive damage’ to its gas liquefaction facilities caused by an Iranian attack. Saudi Arabia claimed that the attack was defeated but that a drone had hit its SAMREF refinery near Yanbu on its western coast. Kuwait reported fires at two of its three refineries, Bahrain and the UAE did not comment but people living there report of explosions, fires and damage.
>Several missiles and drones hit Israel. It has by now come under a sustained attack with air alarms going off nearly every hour. This afternoon the BAZAN oil refinery in Haifa got hit.
>The damage from the continuing U.S. and Israeli bombing campaign in Iran is also quite considerable. The Israeli plan is to destroy all of Iran’s capabilities to the extend that rebuilding will become excessively expensive.
>But Iran has already planned for this. It has found a way to pay for rebuilding its state. As it is, and will likely stay, in control of the Strait of Hormuz it can ask for payments in exchange for providing safe passage[…]
>The picture on the left shows the normal traffic route through the Strait while the picture on the right shows (except for the purple ship) the passing on the controlled route north of Larak Island.
>Without the war and without the blockade of the Strait crude oil prices would hover around $60 bbl instead of the current $100-120 bbl (soon to be $200 bbl). When Iran will finally agree to an end of the war – months if not years from now – one of its conditions might be a surcharge of $10 bbl for any tanker passing the Strait. This would come, for a limited time, on top of the $60 bbl peace-level market price. A moderate toll when one considers the cost of today’s barrels. This while providing a significant income of some $50-100 million per day for Iran. It would help to recuperated the money needed to repair any war damage.
>The U.S., if it will have any say in this, might well agree to that condition.
>Currently Iran has some 140 million barrels of crude oil sitting in floating storage – i.e. on old rented tankers anchoring somewhere. That oil was hard to sell as it was under U.S. sanctions.
>The U.S. is currently considering to lift those sanctions to provide more oil to the global markets and to thereby lower its price. As U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced[…]https://www.moonofalabama.org/2026/03/war-on-iran-refineries-hit-oil-passage-toll-to-pay-for-iranian-damage.html >>2746406>Kim Yo Jong Right wingers were also gooning over her.

Things Go Haywire as Israeli Escalation Throws Iran Conflict into Dangerous New Phase
<Simplicius - Mar 18, 2026
>Things really hit the fan earlier today after Iran’s largest natural gas field, the South Pars, was struck by Israel. This field reportedly accounts for 75% of Iran’s natural gas production and 80-85% of its electric grid.
>This of course came directly after Israel had assassinated Iran’s Secretary of the Supreme National Council Ali Larijani in a strike that was said to have also killed upwards of 100+ civilians in the vicinity, as it leveled the apartment block he was in, and possibly even surrounding buildings.
>This led to Iran immediately escalating with strikes against energy targets in both Israel and the Gulf, particularly hitting Qatar’s Ras Laffan gas hub said to be the world’s largest:
>The strike was successful and was said to have done massive damage to the facility, which some experts are writing is irreparable:
>Worlds most sophisticated gas processing plant, took 14 years to build[…]
>Saudi Arabia likewise claims they “intercepted” several ballistic missiles headed to Riyadh.
>But the most significant development from this sudden firestorm is the revelation that the US did not in fact authorize or participate in these unilateral Israeli strikes, despite earliest reports indicating they were done in tandem. Rumors filtered in throughout the day until Trump finally confirmed it himself in a social media rant wherein he appeared to tongue-lash Israel for its impudence, while simultaneously threatening Iran with more barbaric destruction[…]https://simplicius76.substack.com/p/things-go-haywire-as-israeli-escalation >>2746431Is that Joe Biden?

The Resolution adopted by the Expanded Plenary meeting of the Central Committee of the Tudeh Party of Iran Concerning the Ongoing Military Attacks by the US Imperialism and the Criminal Israeli Government:
<3/19/26, 2:23 PM - Iran, Tudeh Party of Iran - En Asia Communist and workers' parties - 17 March 2026
>The Secretarial of the Central Committee of the Tudeh Party of Iran, The Plenum of the Central Committee of the Tudeh Party of Iran (TPI) was convened earlier in March 2026, attended by members of the Central Committee, party cadres, and officers. The session commenced with a minute of silence to honour the memory of all victims of the brutal bombardments by U.S. imperialism and the criminal Netanyahu government, as well as those who lost their lives during the January popular protests and the martyrs of the Tudeh movement.
>Following a rigorous analysis of the country’s precarious and perilous conditions, and emphasizing the necessity of comprehensive efforts to terminate this overt aggression and safeguard Iran’s national sovereignty, the Plenum adopted a resolution regarding the national situation and the imperative for cooperation and solidarity among all national and pro-freedom forces.
>Furthermore, the assembly issued a formal appeal addressed to all national and democratic forces within the country, calling for the establishment of an extensive global campaign dedicated to the struggle for peace.
>Below we publish the English translation of the resolution adopted by the Plenum:
>Resolution of the (Expanded) Meeting of the Central Committee of the Tudeh Party of Iran
>The military aggression of U.S. imperialism and the criminal government of Netanyahu against Iran—under the false pretext of “preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons,” and at a time when negotiations between representatives of the Islamic Republic and the Trump administration were ongoing with Omani mediation—once again exposed the aggressive nature of U.S. imperialism and the Israeli government. This aggressive war, launched amidst the silence and tacit approval of most European Union governments and in blatant violation of international laws and norms, has imposed a devastating catastrophe on our homeland and the entire Middle East region.
>The expansion of the war across the region—including Israel’s criminal attack on Lebanese territory and the possibility of Gulf countries that host US military bases becoming involved following missile strikes by the Islamic Republic—represents a disaster that progressive forces had warned about weeks in advance. The consequences of this war are now clearly visible: a sharp rise in crude oil prices and the disruption in the transportation ofmany raw materials through the Strait of Hormuz have triggered a widespread economic crisis, the burden of which will fall most heavily on the working class worldwide. West Asia (the Middle East) has repeatedly witnessed such inhumane policies in recent years. A recent example is the killing of tens of thousands of Palestinian children and civilians in Gaza by Netanyahu’s government—a crime that has led to him and several Israeli military and political leaders being pursued by the International Criminal Court in The Hague for crimes against humanity.
>The result of thousands of missiles and the continuous bombing of Iranian cities by the United States and Israel has so far been thousands killed or injured, nearly three million displaced people, and widespread destruction of residential homes and the country’s economic and productive infrastructure. In addition, some important historical sites have suffered catastrophic damage, whose reconstruction—if not impossible—will take decades. Environmental destruction and toxic black rain have also caused serious harm to public health. The direct targeting of civilians, workers, and children is among the most shocking inhumane aspects of this war. A clear example is the U.S. Tomahawk cruise missile attack on a school in Minab (city in southern Iran) on the first day of the war, which killed 168 people, including 110 children. This constitutes a clear war crime and crime against humanity and must be prosecuted by the International Court in The Hague. The attacks of the past three weeks have also shown that the Islamic Republic—despite massive investment in military industries and tens of billions of dollars spent on weapons—has been unable to fulfil its primary duty of defending the country, protecting key industrial and economic infrastructure, and safeguarding the lives of our compatriots in these difficult conditions. .
>The role of mercenary and dependent forces such as Reza Pahlavi and his supporters in encouraging figures like Trump and Netanyahu to bomb and destroy Iran, and in supporting imperialist plans for “regime change,” shows that—contrary to the propaganda of affiliated media outlets such as Iran International, Manoto, and BBC Persian—these groups not only lack a meaningful social base inside Iran, but their only hope of coming to power in Iran is through direct foreign intervention. Historical experience confirms this reality: Mohammad Reza Pahlavi was also installed after the 1953 coup by the CIA and MI6, which overthrew the national government of Dr Mohammad Mossadegh, to serve the interests of imperialist Trusts, turn Iran into a regional gendarme.
>Prior to launching their military aggression against Iran, U.S. imperialism and Netanyahu’s government had examined various scenarios in addition to “regime change” to destabilise Iran, including provoking civil war and undermining the country’s territorial integrity. Mobilising forces such as the Mojahedin-e Khalq and attempting to involve Iranian Kurdish organisations were part of these plans to incite armed conflict from within Iran—efforts that have thus far not succeeded. While emphasising solidarity with the peoples of Iran, including the Kurdish people who have faced years of repression under the regime of “Velayat-e Faqih,” the Tudeh Party of Iran believes that national and progressive Kurdish forces must remain vigilant and neutralise these imperialist plots. Such scenarios would only harm the just struggles of the s peoples of Iran for democratic rights and autonomy within a unified homeland – Iran..
>One immediate and damaging consequence of U.S. and Israeli aggression has been a serious blow to Iran’s popular struggle to transition away from dictatorship—a movement that had already placed the ruling system in deep crisis. The bloody suppression and killing of thousands during the protests of late December 2025 and early January 2026 , sparked by disastrous economic policies, widespread poverty, and repression, generated widespread anger. Continued protests—including in memorial gatherings for those killed, and widespread student demonstrations—showed that the regime faces a severe crisis for legitimacy and survival. For sections of society that, due to lack of organisation and disappointment at not having succeeded in their struggle against the criminal Islamic Republic, namely after the crackdown in early January,, had looked to foreign intervention, the ugly reality of war has now become clearer than ever. As the disasters and brutal reality of other wars have shown—and even as Trump himself has admitted—this war will neither bring democracy nor produce the kind of regime change the Iranian people seek.
>The announcement of Mojtaba Khamenei as the third Leader of the Islamic Republic, following the assassination of Ali Khamenei and part of his family in the early days of the war, represents a heavy blow to one of the key ideals of the 1979 Revolution: ending hereditary rule and establishing a republic based on the people’s will. His appointment—despite uncertainty about his health after being injured during the US-Israel attacks—comes while protesters in recent years have fundamentally demanded the abolition of the principle of “Velayat-e Faqih” (religious jurisprudence). Evidence suggests this appointment, prepared in advance by Revolutionary Guards commanders, aims to continue the failed policies of the past and reflects the dominance of hardline and war-driven forces in determining the regime’s policies. . The first message attributed to him also showed that the leadership of the remainder of the regime continues to insists on the same destructive and disastrous policies that have driven the country to the current critical condition.
>Since the victory of the 1979 Revolution, the Tudeh Party of Iran has consistently and firmly condemned U.S. imperialist interference and that of its regional and domestic allies, in the internal affairs of Iran. It also believes that the misguided and anti-national policies of the ruling theocracy in the past decades, have not only pushed millions into poverty but, through its foreign policy of “exporting the Islamic revolution” and its efforts to create proxy forces and resurrect the “Islamic Empire”, have exposed the country to the threat of catastrophic foreign intervention.
>The protests of 2017-18, 2019-20, 2022-23, and 2025-26 demonstrate that the regime has managed to ensure its survival only through organised and bloody repression. Fortunately, in the past months, and especially following the bloody crackdown on the liberation protests of December 2025-January 2026, encouraging signs had emerged of efforts among progressive forces inside the country to form a broad front for organised resistance and the transition from the Islamic Republic. However, we have also witnessed the extensive efforts of the regime’s security forces—as well as the supporters of Pahlavi and the media outlets attached to them—have attempted to discredit influential civil activists to obstruct the formation of a democratic coalition. The Tudeh Party of Iran continues to work towards closer cooperation with other progressive political forces, and emphasises that without unity among progressive, democratic, and freedom-seeking forces, fundamental change will not be possible.
>Under current critical conditions, the Tudeh Party of Iran believes that ending this destructive war—which is pursued by U.S. imperialism, Netanyahu’s government, remnants of the monarchy, and hardliners within the regime—is the most urgent task of progressive and peace-loving forces of Iran and worldwide. Global public opinion must be mobilised to pressure warmongers to end this regional catastrophe. Our Party has already initiated extensive cooperation with international workers and communist parties, as well as labour and progressive movements in many countries and will continue these efforts with utmost determination.
>In this dangerous situation, in our party’s view, strengthening national unity against imperialist aggression and opposing internal warmongers is both a patriotic and revolutionary duty. Repelling aggression, securing peace, and organising the struggle against dictatorship are only possible through national unity. In our Party’s view, the basis of this national unity—embracing workers, labourers in cities and rural areas, and all popular strata in the society— is: an immediate ceasefire, lasting peace, the release of political prisoners, the protection of the lives of citizens and the infrastructure, an end to neoliberal policies, realisation of equal rights to all peoples, and the safeguarding of Iran’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity.
>We express our condolences and sympathies with the thousands of families who have lost loved ones, homes, and livelihoods, and with all the people of Iran who live and work through brutal bombardment by USA and Israel as they approach Nowruz and the New Year with hope. We stand alongside the suffering people and the working masses of Iran. As in the past, members of the Tudeh Party of Iran, see it as their duty to support war victims and assist those affected by this devastating catastrophe.

Trump’s $200 billion Iran funding request points to massive scale of war plans
<Andre Damon - 17 hours ago
>The Washington Post reported Wednesday that the Pentagon is seeking more than $200 billion from Congress to fund the US war of aggression against Iran, a sum that would exceed the roughly $188 billion spent by the US on arming Ukraine over three years.
>The scale of the request is a measure of the war Trump has launched. Far from being, as the president has called it, an “excursion,” the $200 billion the Pentagon is seeking exceeds even the peak annual cost of the Iraq war, which ran to roughly $140 billion a year at the height of the 2007 surge—when 170,000 American troops occupied the country. No ground invasion has yet taken place in Iran, and the administration is already seeking a larger appropriation than the costliest year of the eight-year Iraq occupation.
>The war burned through more than $11 billion in its first week alone.
>The supplemental comes on top of the $839 billion defense appropriations bill for Fiscal Year 2026, the largest military budget in American history, which Congress passed in January. When combined with spending on intelligence agencies, the Department of Energy’s nuclear weapons programs and other national security expenditures, total US military spending exceeds $1 trillion a year[…]https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2026/03/19/qzqr-m19.htmlUS Fed gripped by uncertainty as war dominates the economy
<Nick Beams - 17 hours ago
>The US Federal Reserve yesterday kept interest rates on hold, as expected, but indicated that it has no real idea about the direction of the US economy flowing from the disruption caused by the US war on Iran and the hike in oil prices.
>In their economic projections, known as the dot plot, in which Fed officials indicate where they think interest rates will move, 12 of the 19 members indicated at least one rate cut by the end of the year, with seven indicating there would be no reduction.
>As the turmoil from the war increases, the overriding impression from the press conference of Fed chair Jerome Powell is that the central bank is like an animal trapped in the headlights of a massive truck hurtling towards it and not knowing which way to turn.
>Powell said that in view of the uncertainty flowing from the war in the Middle East, any predictions in the dot plot were largely meaningless.
>“The thing I really want to emphasize is that nobody knows. The economic effects could be bigger, they could be smaller, they could be much smaller or much bigger. <Our reporter> -18 hours ago
>More than a dozen critical statements, Perspectives, and World Socialist Web Site articles on the criminal US-Israeli war on Iran and how to stop it are now available in Farsi, the mother-tongue of approximately two-thirds of the Iranian people.
>These include: “Stop the criminal US-Israeli war against Iran!,” a statement of the Socialist Equality Party (US) National Committee issued on March 2, less than 48 hours after the US and Israel, under the cover of continuing diplomatic negotiations, launched their war of aggression on Iran; “WSWS emergency webinar articulates socialist strategy to stop US-Israeli war against Iran” (a March 9 Perspective); and “Trump is planning a ground invasion of Iran” (March 13, WSWS Editorial Board Statement.)
>Also now available in Farsi are important articles that were published as Trump and Netanyahu prepared their assault in Iran, an historically oppressed country, to advance a socialist strategy for the Iranian working class to oppose imperialism and all factions of the Iranian bourgeoisie. These include: “Oppose the pro-imperialist Kurdish nationalist coalition in Iran” and “The Iranian protests, imperialist aggression and the fight for workers’ power”

Unequal Exchange: The Engine of Modern Imperialism
<Rev Left Radio - Mar 19, 2026
>Torkil Lauesen joins us to discuss his book Unequal Exchange: Past, Present, and Future and the hidden mechanics of modern imperialism. Lauesen returns to the tradition of Arghiri Emmanuel to argue that while the world market tends to equalize prices, wages remain radically unequal across borders – driving a structural transfer of value from low-wage production zones to high-wage consumer economies.
>We walk through Lauesen’s reconstruction of unequal exchange through Marx’s value theory, the leading approaches to measuring global value transfer, and what contemporary estimates imply about the scale of the drain. From there, we explore the political consequences inside the Global North: why reformism and social democracy have often been stabilized by imperial arrangements, what that means for internationalism, and why the “imperial mode of living” is increasingly unstable.
>Finally, we turn to the shifting world order – especially Lauesen’s argument that a new mode of production may be emerging, best exemplified by China – and what that implies for the future of capitalism, multipolarity, and socialist transition.
>We also discuss the ongoing war/conflict involving Iran and what it reveals about crisis, hegemony, and the changing methods of imperial power.

Most Americans believe Trump will send troops into Iran, but don’t back idea : Poll
Some 65 percent of Americans believe US President Donald Trump will order troops into a large-scale ground war in Iran, but only 7 percent support the idea, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll that closed today.
The three-day poll showed Trump’s broader standing with the public holding largely unchanged at 40 percent, up one percentage point from a Reuters/Ipsos poll carried out in the hours after the US and Israel attacked Iran late February. The poll, which gathered responses from 1,545 US adults nationwide, had a margin of error of about three percentage points.
Members of Trump’s Republican party largely support the war as it has played out so far, with 77 percent saying they approve of US strikes on Iran, compared with 6 percent of Democrats and 28 percent of independents.
Some 37 percent of Americans overall approve of the war, the poll found. Fifty-nine percent disapprove, including about one in five Republicans.
Some 63 percent of Republicans – and 34 percent of Americans overall – said they would support deploying a small number of special forces troops to Iran. Fifty-five percent of respondents in the poll said they opposed deploying any ground troops, whether the scale of operations be large or small.
Netanyahu: Israel won’t hit Iran’s main gasfield again after Trump call
The prime minister says Israel “acted alone” in striking Iran’s South Pars gasfield and the Iran war could end “faster than people think”.
Netanyahu said Israel will hold off on any further attacks on Iran’s giant natural gasfield at Trump’s request. The Israeli leader also said any Iranian attempt to close the Strait of Hormuz would fail.
“The death cult in Iran is trying to blackmail the world by closing a key international maritime route, the Strait of Hormuz. It won’t work,” Netanyahu said at a televised news conference.
The Israeli leader dedicated a substantial chunk of his news conference to denying that his government pushed the United States into war with Iran.
“This canard that we dragged the United States into this is not just a canard, it’s ridiculous,” he said. He added that Trump told him more than a year ago: “‘Bibi, we’ve got to make sure that Iran doesn’t have nuclear weapons.’
“The world owes a debt of deep indebtedness, deep indebtedness to President Trump for leading this effort to safeguard our future,” said Netanyahu.
‘The longer the war goes on, the more likely US and Israel’s strategies will differ’
Ross Harrison, a senior fellow at the Middle East Institute, says that the longer the US-Israel war on Iran continues, the more likely it is that the two allies will begin to differ on strategy.
Each nation is facing a different sort of pressure, Harrison told Al Jazeera.
“The US is getting most of the global pressure because of the economic consequences” being felt across the region, he said. The US is also feeling the pressure on a domestic level, he said.
On the other hand, “Israel has a regional perspective and set of interests, and the war is very popular there,” said Harrison, adding: “So the longer the war goes on, the greater the opportunity for deviation.”
If the attacks on the South Pars energy infrastructure were in fact a joint US-Israeli effort, for instance, it’s possible that the US launched them because “they aren’t ready to negotiate” or de-escalate the war, said Harrison, adding that it’s difficult to know “how much messaging and coordination took place” between the allied countries. It could also be a good cop, bad cop kind of strategy,” he said.

This is how the resistance can plug the Persian Gulf leak.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/East%E2%80%93West_Crude_Oil_Pipeline>As of 2018 they had a capacity of 5 million barrels of oil per day (BPD)[4] during normal operation. As of 2026, its full capacity was 7 million BPD[5] when accompanying natural gas liquids pipelines are converted to carry crude oil.[6] It was converted to full capacity on March 11, 2026, due to the 2026 Iran war and the associated closure of the Strait of Hormuz to non-Iranian vessels.[7]Just saying, though, that the Houthis already put the fear of spilled oil in the hearts of NATO once. They don't need to close the Mandeb Strait, Red Sea, a stray drone every other week to the pumping stations, would keep it closed.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019_Afif_attack >>2746452>The attacks of the past three weeks have also shown that the Islamic Republic—despite massive investment in military industries and tens of billions of dollars spent on weapons—has been unable to fulfil its primary duty of defending the country, protecting key industrial and economic infrastructure, and safeguarding the lives of our compatriots in these difficult conditions>Evidence suggests this appointment, prepared in advance by Revolutionary Guards commanders, aims to continue the failed policies of the past and reflects the dominance of hardline and war-driven forces in determining the regime’s policies. I cant blame them for hating the current gov, but clearly having proxy forces and investing in missiles was a good idea, and its delusional to think US would leave them alone if they just were good boys that didnt help anyone else and left usrael and gcc commit genocides all around the region. The US military has accelerated the deployment of thousands of Marines and sailors to help reinforce US troops in the Middle East amid the war against Iran.
Four officials tell Newsmax the Boxer Amphibious Ready Group and the embarked 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit is deploying ahead of schedule from the West Coast and is expected to sail through the Indo-Pacific to the Middle East region after the Navy was ordered to surge additional fire power.
The Boxer Amphibious Ready Group includes the USS Boxer amphibious assault ship—which serves as a mini aircraft carrier—and USS Portland and USS Comstock amphibious landing ships. There are roughly 2,500 Marines–4,000 total service members aboard these three amphibs.
