>>2755521>not even willing to look good in a symbolic vote for soft power purposesif you put this in fiction they would say it was over the top, too on the nose, cartoonish
>>2755763>symbolic vote for soft power purposesThey always imply some form of financial burden if the vote is passed. The recent one which recognized the triangular trade as the worst crime in humanity for instance implied some form of retribution.
Crying over historical events is so fucking cringy and embarassing
>>2755825>imply that's as far as it ever goes
>>2756168missed the point award.
>>2756175Which is?
Integrity is better than lying which is why i respect them voting no.
>>2756211Were they lying in these votes?
>>2756244I never said that.
>>2755763The modern right does not value soft power. They despise it actually. The era of realpolitik is gone. Hence why Trump's foreign policy has been such a clown show.
>not even willing to look good in a symbolic vote for soft power purposes
That's not it though. They are way too deep and departing from their "bad faith vote" cope would only further discredit all their previous ones.
Additionally, every time the USA drags their allies to these symbolic declarations of support for the worst shit ever. It reinforces their commitment to US hegemony. It is an exclusionary brand, like a gang tattoo meant to push you towards loyalty by cutting out all those who know what the brand means. Because if your side ever loses, you are completely fucked. They will know who you were and where you stood.
They almost got their way with Ukraine. As pretty much the whole world was forced then to take the Washington line. When push came to shove, however, just about nobody but the US-whipped NATO slaves joined to sanction Russia.
It's a matter of time before the UN, which is just the imperialist refresher to the colonialist League of Nations, tilts more towards other powers and the USA declares it obsolete in a more serious manner than the "Board of Peace" BS.
>>2756334>The modern right does not value soft power. They despise it actually. This value set isn't any more modern than fascism.
>>2755763>UN votes do these actually have impact on anything?
>>2756804Name a single based thing Russia/China vetoed. Maybe there's something I overlooked…
>>2756803No they don't, hence OP saying
>not even willing to look good in a symbolic vote for soft power purposes >>2755763i don't understand why they worded transatlantic slavery as the worst crime against humanity in history.
it pretty much makes this vote unusable as propaganda as any normie will ask why do black people's suffering gets to be elevated above everyone else's or as if no one else was ever enslaved as well
>>2757024it's still stupid that the USA voted against it since it had a whole ass civil war over it, and even America's """"islamofascist"""" enemies who used to enslave africans themselves also recognized it as wrong. face it. burgers have lost the mandate of heaven. everyone hates them and they go out of their way to be edgy and anti-human even when handed the opportunity for a simple public-relations layup with no strings attached.
>>2756957This has nothing to do with the working class its just retarded ethnic nationalism.
>>2755763why did cambodia abstain? trying to curry favor with trump against thailand? how pathetic
>>2757124No its when you try to claim a certain historical event as being the worst atrocity ever in human history forming a hierarchy of opression and then trying to use that to leveradge monetary benefits to for your ethnic groups personal gain.
