Communist Front (Italy): Italian communists welcome Meloni’s referendum defeat, call for broader political struggle In a result described as a “clear political slap” to the far-right government of Giorgia Meloni, Italy’s recent referendum on justice reforms has produced a decisive rejection of the proposed constitutional changes. According to the Communist Front (Italy), the outcome reflects not only opposition to a specific reform, but a wider and deepening discontent with the current political direction of the country. The organization emphasized that the victory of the “No” vote came alongside a higher-than-expected voter turnout—an element they interpret as a significant and active expression of political dissent. In their assessment, this opposition extends beyond traditional anti-government circles, encompassing a broader segment of society than the ruling coalition’s electoral base. At the heart of the referendum was a reform strongly backed by the government itself, presented as a cornerstone initiative aimed at consolidating political power ahead of future elections. The Communist Front argues that its rejection signals a failure of this strategy, describing the reform as part of a broader trajectory of “authoritarian tendencies” promoted by the executive.

Thousands of high school students have taken to the streets to protest fuel price hikes and attacks on public education. The first question that comes to mind is whether these students represent a new generation of activists, foreshadowing further mobilizations. And will a workers’ movement take up the banners of struggle alongside them? This resistance will have to be built, navigating the mediating (and outdated) leadership of the Socialist Party and the Communist Party, as well as the Broad Front of former president Gabriel Boric. Our comrades from the Revolutionary Workers’ Party (PTR) of Chile, who are part of our international organization, the Current for Permanent Revolution (CPR-FI), are already talking about a short honeymoon period. In the two weeks since Kast took office, he has faced environmental mobilizations against his extractivist policies, a massive pot-banging protest in Santiago, and student mobilizations (which in Chile always serve as a sounding board for deeper problems). To develop this resistance and defeat Kast’s entire program, they are proposing the need to promote and strengthen grassroots organizing and move towards a National Strike Front. But why are right-wing governments like Kast’s now facing such short honeymoons?
https://www.leftvoice.org/right-wing-governments-in-latin-america-face-short-honeymoons/Interview With a TKP-ML TİKKO GuerrillaFirstly, I want to ask you about an current topic. We speak about the attacks of USA and Israel against Iran and the response that Iran give. On the 2nd congress of your Party, you pointed out that the imperialists are preparing for an new imperialist war of partition and expressed as a prior duty the necessity of struggling against this danger of war. How do you evaluate firstly the occupation of the Ukraine through Russia, then the Israeli attacks on Palestine, Lebanon and Iran, where they used the attacks of the 7th October as pretext and in the end the USA-Israeli attacks against Iran?
"As you said, there are detailed clarifications about the lived process and specially about the situation of the imperialist-capitalist system in the documents of the 2nd congress of our party. The document about the situation in the country and the world is giving very clear perspective for us, as well as for the international proletariat and the people of the world. The imperialist-capitalist system is living the result of the crisis of the year 2008, that they couldn’t overcome. Because of this, they focused more to the regional wars. But these regional wars didn’t bring the solution for imperialist-capitalist system’s crisis. In this process, two blocks were bulid, on one side USA-England and the European union, on the other side China and Russia. Today we face with the war in Ukraine, as well as with the attacks to Iran, Lebanon and Palestine as a result of the competition between these two blocks. It is a “preventive” attack of the US imperialism against China, appearing as a “new and young” imperialist force on the market competition. For this purpose, the US imperialism is using the Israeli Zionism as their forward base in the Middle East and at the same time one of the reasons for these attacks is to solidify the security of the Israeli Zionism. The attacks against Iran should be understood like this. The Iranian Molla-Regime is a reactionary regime. Of course, the Iranian Molla-Regime doesn’t have the goal for liberation of exploitation, independency and democracy for the Iranian people. But at the same time the US is making propaganda that they started these attacks to bring democracy for Iranian people, which is a big lie. In response to the US attack, reaction, nationalism and chauvinism is fed in Iran. Some years ago, Iran made a longtime contract with the Chinese imperialism about the country’s underground sources, which they hid from the people. This hidden contract led to big reactions under the Iranian People, Revolutionaries and Progressivist."
