Alright bros, I've joined the RCA. I know they're Trotskyist but I just cannot stand being in an org with morons that haven't read any theory. Should I immediately leave then kill myself? Did I make the right choice?

I have been apprehensive joining any org, I for one refuse to join the DSA even if they have the SMC. I don't respect the PSL for being COINTELPRO'd to death, I don't respect the CIACP or CPUSA, so what choice do I really have

Anyone on here have any info on them, if they're a good group or not? Did I make a mistake?

All of the above

>>2764861
Fuuuuuuuuck, killing myself now

My opinion of RCA
Pros:
-Don't believe in the big bang theory
-Stole the party name from Maoists
-Put "Are you a communist?" stickers on virtually every surface in my town, causing liberals to seethe
Cons:
-Acted as wreckers to a local campus Palestine sit-in
-Show up at FRSO and SAlt events to sell their stuff despite not helping to plan
-Rape allegations

>>2764915
Damn those cons seem pretty serious.

I didn't know they wrecked a sit-in that seems antithetical to what they would believe, but I'm not doubting. Do you have any more info on that / when it happened

Also with the FRSO and SAlt events that's pretty unforgivable. I know they said they have been trying to get their foot in the door and they told me that selling papers was a requirement with membership but I didn't know they were encroaching like that. Awful

I also heard about the rape allegations but I don't know enough info or how to approach this. Does a rape allegation of a member condemn the whole organization

>>2764915
Aint nothin wrong bout crashing some other chump's party to do a lil bidness. It's the name of the game dawg. It's called Trotskyism. It's a tradition. Deal wit it uygha.

My contact is a nice woman

>>2765277
Did she tell you how many issues you gotta move to get dat Frida Kahlo award?

>>2764860
just join the DSA and join one of the caucuses that you like. I don't think the USA left is big enough for people to be nitpicky. just join and educate the liberals.

>>2766114
join because its big tent. not because its particularly good btw.

>>2764915
>-Show up at FRSO and SAlt events to sell their stuff despite not helping to plan
>-Rape allegations
lol why are trots like this?

>>2764860
DSA appears to have by far the best strategy, after all, the mayor of NYC is DSA

>>2766134
to be fair, ml parties have their share of allegations as well.

>>2766182
I guess it's par for the course with irregular, insulated organizations

>>2766182

Lets not pretend any of these "parties" have any majorly different functions, they're all essentially liberal NGOs with the red-debate club DLC.

>>2764860
Another monthly RCA thread

didn't all of those get exposed by Gonzaloists as being pro-Prachanda-Battharai eg; pro-Nepalese Revisionism?

leftychuds will comfortably criticize anything while comrades are out there risking their life.

https://marxist.com/pakistan-ehsan-ali-and-aac-leaders-arrested-again-on-charges-of-terrorism.htm

Is this the one with bob avakian

>>2766933
yes, the REVISIONIST bob who supported the prachanda-battharai nepalese revisionist-capitulationist gang

>>2765090
Uh well basically they did no organizing. And tried to claim ownership over it, despite that. At one of the marches to the encampment, the got their own bullhorn and started chanting down the speakers. Started their own chants. Said that we need to stand with the Israeli working class. They called my comrade a liberal and a Stalinist lol. They called someone else a “Maoist asswipe”

>>2767792
Serious question: how do you expect to change the functioning governance of society if you bitch about CHANTS?

Why does every single trot org have a rape problem?

>>2765090
>encroaching

lol you people act like organzing is a fiefdom divided among groups that no one can cross

lets face it but the RCA is the future in the US

>DSA

reformist liberal social club that only works to elect democrats

>PSL

endless protests where only their members show up. also promote "AES" and think china and russia are anti-imperialist

>ACP

nationalists, tailists, chauvinists as well as all the same problems as PSL

>Socialist alternative

not seriously interested in making a party and is just doing endless election campaigns and leeching on the DSA

>all other trot sects (SEP, sparts etc.)

tiny irrelevant with mostly boomer membership

>all other maoist sects

violent and or abusive cults

>>2768738
if you look hard enough every org has a rape problem. even liberal orgs have rape problems

>>2769205
>t. Caleb Maupin

>>2768686
This was an anti-genocide Palestine solidarity encampment on campus. The goal was to get the University to divest all institutional support for Zionist causes. So their pro-Zionist (or at best, Zionist-neutral) chanting was active wrecking behavior.
I'm not making any claims about broader goals in my criticism.

Im on a bus to a RCI meeting rn kek

>>2770451
We've all been there.
Don't wait until they've drained you for all you're worth. Real communist parties are out there and they don't function like pyramid schemes.
Dont let them convince you to read books by Trotsky and Trotskyists before you've read key works of Marx, Engels and Lenin.
Good luck.

>>2770475
The most egregious aspect of the RCI and other sects like it is the use of the slate system to elect the central committee. Essentially the outgoing CC will recommend a "slate" to replace them and the congress either votes for or against it. congress could propose their own slate, but individuals do not run for central committee, and congress can't vote against individual members. additionally rank and file members cannot simply run to be a delegate. You have to be nominated by branch leadership and they select based on who's at the "highest political level", and the membership either approves or votes down their selection. this is basically all taken from the 1920s stalinist degeneration of the bolshevik party which was imported around the world through the comintern.

>>2773191
I struggle to envision how this is democratic at all, theyre just choosing people who will perpetuate their echo chambers

>>2773196
it basically is. It's a distortion of democratic centralism from the post 1917 era. Sects that use it often justify it as implementing what the bolsheviks did, but the bolsheviks never used it prior to the civil war era degeneration and buraucratization of the party. This isn't unique to RCI at all. Socialist alternative uses it along with other sects
