How many times does this have to be said. The CPC aren't retards. They can occasionally be hesitant and they can be ruthless, but they’re not going to choose the most retarded option and Invading Taiwan is retarded. Why do something like that when they can simply apply economic pressure? I think this is what is going to happen, similar to when Hong Kong joined in 1997 and Macau in 1999.

The One Country, Two Systems (一国两制) concept is really smart: While mainland China is vast and very different according to regions, it still has a sort of unified set of laws made by the CPC.
But Hong Kong has the tax-free high-tech commodities designed for the UK market, and Macau has Portuguese tile art and gambling degeneracy, and more importantly, they both have unrestricted internet. They both have currencies that have less capital control compared to RMB (renminbi/yuan). The entry controls are very light too if you come from the Mainland.
Hong Kong is very expensive for the average Chinese, but they can go there by train to experience something different easily, same for Macau if they want to gamble their family savings and ruin their lives.

Taiwan speaks Mandarin, the big cities are full of Han Chinese, they are bound to reunite at some point in history.
Hell, the KMT leader met Xi a few days ago. The US are messing up too much.
But Mainland China and the CPC has to propose a good deal to Taiwan for them to be officially part of it and definitely fall under their sphere of influence.
I've talked with a few Taiwanese who seemed to be pro-DPP, and what they mostly seem to be afraid of losing their civic liberties. I've also tried to access Wikipedia and debian.org under the Great Firewall of China (防火长城) and it was complete shit so I can understand.
Now that the US is acting like a rabid dog, I think a lot of Taiwanese people start to see the rules of the current gamebeing played in a different way, but the CPC also needs to offer some kind of deal to Taiwan that allows them some autonomy too.
Then there is also the question of US military bases… How do you oust them now, as diplomatically as possible?

Again I think this is more or less what is going to happen, but you know, the full merging of Hong Kong is supposed to happen in 2047, and honestly if they become just a normal part of mainland China I'm not sure if I'm not fully for it within the current conditions of how China operates, even if Hong Kongers are rather miserable at the moment. I think they still need to be considered Special Economic Zones with less restrictions on imports and civil liberties regarding censorship, etc. That would be a good move for both of them.

That said, the CPC cancelled all domestic flights to Japan during this very Chinese/Lunar New Year, a couple of months ago, the period of the year where Chinese workers can go on vacation for a week, and generally they take a cheap flight to Tokyo or Osaka, and completely flood them.

That was a hell of a trolling move. But I'm sure you easily book a Shanghai -> Osaka flight right now, and things have changed since Trump decided to crash the Japanese and South Korean stock markets with no survivors last month.
